Transcription Notes

These notes record every point where the card does not state the rule outright, so the text above can be checked against the cards.

  • Ability timing is not printed. The base game rulebook says each Leader's ability is either Once Per Round or Permanent, shown at the bottom of the card. Neither card prints either word, so the timing of both abilities is unknown from the card alone.
  • Requirement icons are read as requirements. The base game rulebook says the icons at the top of a Leader card are requirements, not costs. The purple Family Member with a number, the blue shield, the red cross and the yellow Development card are read that way here.
  • Carlo VIII's die icon. The white die shows a plus sign and two pips. The pip count is read from the scan, and the meaning of the plus sign is not explained on the card or in the base game rulebook.
  • Jacopo Salviati's scroll icon. The card does not name the resource or token the scroll stands for. The base game rulebook names no scroll symbol. The meaning of the scroll is therefore unconfirmed.
  • Arrow and equals signs. The base game rulebook describes arrows as "pay the left side to receive the right side", and the Carlo VIII arrow is read that way. The Jacopo Salviati "=" sign has no matching entry in the base game rulebook, so it is read here only as an exchange between the two sides.
  • Source of truth. This transcription was made from a scan of the cards only. No text outside the cards was used to fill any gap.
