Instructions
These special cards are laid out face up at the beginning of the game. Each card can only be used once during gameplay. "The One Ring" and "The Watchful Peace" are cards from the new SAURON expansion and can be used immediately with the original game. "The Black Gate" is a unique and exclusive card designed for use with the FRIENDS & FOES expansion. If you have not yet tried these dynamic expansions to the main LORD OF THE RINGS boardgame, these cards will give you a taste of their exciting possibilities.
The Black Gate
Exclusive to the FRIENDS & FOES expansion.
Front
When the last Foe is revealed, all players must return their Foes showing black symbols and shuffle these into a new Foe deck.
Back
There are 8 Foes that show black symbols: a black square, a black circle, and a black eye. When the last Foe is revealed from the Foe deck, all players return their previously defeated Foes with the above symbols. The returned Foes are then immediately shuffled into a new Foe deck which must be defeated in order to achieve Military Victory. Foes with black symbols displayed in the Foe line are not returned when the last Foe is revealed.
The symbols on the card are printed as icons; they are rendered here as words.
The One Ring
The Ring-bearer may pass the Ring to another Fellowship player.
Watchful Peace
Sauron moves back 3 steps on the Corruption line.
