Components

  • 1 Game board
  • 60 Roof tokens (15 pieces × 4 colors)
  • 5 Dice
  • 1 Rulebook

Setup

Place the game board in the middle of the table. For the first game, play on side A (6×6) of the game board. Each player picks a color and takes all 15 roof tokens of that color. If 2 or 3 are playing, place the unused roof tokens back in the box. Each player rolls a die, and the player who rolls the highest goes first. If tied, roll again until the starting player is determined.

Gameplay

Each round, players take turns to roll 5 dice and place 1 of their roof tokens on the square with the matching combination on the game board.

Each player may roll up to 5 times per turn. After each roll, you can choose which dice to keep, and which to reroll. You may reroll some or all of the dice. You can also reroll the dice you previously decided to keep.

If you succeed in rolling 1 of the combinations, place a roof token on a square with the matching symbol of your choice on the game board (see Dice Combinations below).

IMPORTANT!

  • You must use the last rolled dice combination even if you prefer a combination from one of your previous rolls. You can never undo a roll.
  • If you are unable to roll a combination to place a token on the game board after five rolls, you must discard 1 of your unused roof tokens and put it back in the box.

Note: You may use any combination from your dice roll. e.g. Even if you rolled a four-of-a-kind or a full house, you may instead use only 3 dice to make a three-of-a-kind. You can even use only 2 dice to make a two-of-a-kind.

Then the game continues onto the next player in clockwise order.

Placing Roof Tokens

Where you can place your roof token depends on the combination you roll and how many times you rolled the dice to get it.

  • If you rolled 5 times to get a combination, you may only place your roof token on an empty square with the matching combination.
  • If you rolled 4 times, you may place your roof token on an empty matching square or a matching square with 1 roof token on it.
  • If you rolled 3 times, you may place your roof token on an empty matching square or a matching square with 2 or fewer roof tokens on it.
  • If you rolled twice, you may place your roof token on a matching square with 3 or fewer roof tokens on it.
  • If you rolled just once, you may place your roof token on a matching square with 4 or fewer roof tokens on it.

You can even place a roof token on top of your own roof token if the condition above is met.

A square on the board can at most hold 5 roof tokens. The square with 5 roof tokens then belongs to the player with the top roof token.

Game End (Victory Conditions)

There are 3 ways to win the game:

  1. If you succeed in making a row of 4 with your roof tokens on top (horizontally, vertically or diagonally), then you win the game immediately!
  2. If you succeed in placing a roof token on each of the 3 Jackpot squares, then you win the game immediately (the tokens do not have to be on top).
  3. If no one wins by either of the two methods above, then the game finishes when all the roof tokens run out, and players proceed to scoring.

Scoring

Players score points for each roof token on the top level of each square on the game board. The level equals the points you earn. For each of your roof tokens on level 5 atop 4 other tokens, you gain 5 points. If the topmost roof token on a square is on level 4 atop 3 other tokens, you gain 4 points. If on level 3, you gain 3 points, and so on.

For example, you have:

  • 1 roof token on level 4 (1 × 4 = 4 points)
  • 2 roof tokens on level 3 (2 × 3 = 6 points)
  • 1 roof token on level 2 (1 × 2 = 2 points)
  • 3 roof tokens on level 1 (3 × 1 = 3 points)

Your point total is 4 + 6 + 2 + 3 = 15 points.

Add up your score for all your top roof tokens. The player with the most points is the winner!

Dice Combinations (Side A)

  • Two-of-a-kind: 2 dice with the same particular number of pips. Each two-of-a-kind has its own square on the board where you must place your token when you roll that particular two-of-a-kind.
  • Straight: 5 dice in ascending order, i.e., 1-2-3-4-5 or 2-3-4-5-6.
  • Three-of-a-kind: Any 3 dice with the same number of pips.
  • Full house: A combination of a two-of-a-kind and a three-of-a-kind, i.e., 1-1-5-5-5.
  • Four-of-a-kind: Any 4 dice with the same number of pips.
  • Jackpot: All 5 dice with the same number of pips.

Dice Combinations (Side B)

The game board side B (4×4) has fewer squares than side A, leading to more competition for squares between players. Use this side if you want a more competitive game.

  • Two-of-a-kind: Any two dice with the same number of pips.

The two-of-a-kind square on side B allows you to place a roof token with any pair of the same number. Other dice combinations remain the same as on side A.

Example: If a player previously put a roof token on the two-of-a-kind square with a pair of 6, the next player could place their token with any two-of-a-kind and is not limited to the pair of 6.

Roof Token Placement

You may roll your dice a maximum of 5 times per turn. How high you may stack your roof token on a matching square depends on how many rolls it took you to get the combination:

  • If you get a dice combination with 5 rolls: place on an empty square only.
  • ...with 4 rolls: place on an empty square or up to 1 roof token already there.
  • ...with 3 rolls: place on an empty square or up to 2 roof tokens already there.
  • ...with 2 rolls: place on up to 3 roof tokens already there.
  • ...with 1 roll: place on up to 4 roof tokens already there.
