Overview
In Lil' Guys, players compete to put together the best party for a bunch of little Guys! They do this by gathering matching types of Guys and purchasing fun items from the Party Store. What kinds of Guys will be at your party? Cool, funny, or weird - they're all pretty great.
Winning the Game
Simply put, the player with the most points at the end of the game wins! Players earn points by collecting Guys of matching types. The more Guys of a type a player has at the end of the game, the more points they score! Additional points can be earned from Items bought from the Party Store during play.

Setup - Exclusive Guys
This type of Guy is a bonus group exclusive to the Kickstarter print run of the game. Remove them from the Guys Deck if you don't want to include them in your game. If you do want to include them here's how to do it:
- Remove all the guys of any one type from the Guys Deck (ex. all the FUNNY GUYS).
- Choose your 8 favorite single-symbol EXCLUSIVE GUYS.
- Choose your 2 favorite double-symbol EXCLUSIVE GUYS.
- Leave the remaining 15 EXCLUSIVE GUYS out of the game and shuffle your chosen 10 into the Guys Deck!
Setup
For 4 Players
Use all 80 Guys Deck cards and all 45 Party Store Deck cards.
For 2-3 Players
Some cards will need to be removed from the Guys Deck and the Party Store Deck. These cards won't be used in the game.
From the Guys Deck, remove all of the SHY GUYS and COOL GUYS.
From the Party Store, remove all the Friend cards.
Scoring Reference Card
Pass out a Scoring Reference Card to each player.
Guys Deck
Shuffle the deck and draw one Guy at a time, placing it face up in a line in the center of the table until you have TEN total Guys. It is important not to rearrange the Guys as they are drawn.
The Party Store Deck
Shuffle the deck and place out five cards face up in a convenient place on the table.
Rounds of Play
Starting with the player who most recently threw a party (in real life), players will take turns being the Party Planner each round. Without rearranging the line, the Party Planner must split the line of Guys into a number of groups equal to the number of players.
Ex. 4 players means the Planner splits the line into 4 groups.
When the split is declared final, starting with the person on the Party Planner's left and going around the table clockwise, players choose any one group of guys created by the Planner to add to their collection. When the Planner takes the last group of guys for themselves the round is over.
At the Start of Each Round
- Place out TEN new Guys from the Guys Deck.
- Discard the cards currently face up in the Party Store.
- Place out FIVE new cards from the Party Store Deck.
The Party Planner for the new round is the player on the previous Party Planner's left.
The Store
Players may purchase items from the Party Store to make their parties more bodacious (and score more points.) Non-purchased Party Store cards are discarded at the end of each round so if a player sees something they want they should be advised to "Buy Now!"
Purchasing Items
To purchase an item, a player must swap one Guy that they have collected THIS ROUND with a card in the Party Store. This is done immediately after choosing a group of Guys and is considered "Sending a Guy to the Store." This Guy is now available for purchase for other players as if it was an item in the store.
Two important notes:
- Each player may only send one Guy to the store each round!
- Any Guy with negative points on their card can NOT be sent to the store!
Diagram caption: "Sending a Guy to the Store." Guys taken this round sit below the Party Store row; a Guy is swapped with a Party Store card (e.g. the Junk Pile). After this trade, the Guy will be purchasable in the Party Store until the end of the round.
The Game Ends When...
The Guys Deck runs out of cards and the final round is completed. In a 3-4 player game this means everyone gets two turns at being the Party Planner.
Note: There will be a few unused Party Store cards left at the end of the game. This is intentional!
Scoring
Starting with the last Planner, players go around the table clockwise one at a time to determine which of their Special Item cards they have successfully completed and which they have not, placing their uncompleted cards face down. These score no points.
More Scoring
Now it's time to count up points earned from Guys! Players score points for each group of Guys they have collected. The more Guys in a group, the more points scored! Check your Scoring Reference Card to determine how many points each group is worth!
NOTE: Guys with two symbols count for two of their given type!
STINKY GUYS, SHY GUYS, and RICH GUYS count as groups too so don't forget to count them!
Any negative points are still factored into your score.
Final Score
By adding up all their points earned from Guys and all their points earned from Party Store cards, a player determines their FINAL SCORE. Whoever has the most points wins!
Players may find it helpful to use their phone's calculator or a piece of scratch paper to keep track of the numbers and ensure accuracy.
Simplified Scoring Variant
For whichever group of Guys you have the most of, score 2 points for each type symbol shown on the cards. For the second largest group, score 1 point for each type symbol shown on the card. Items score as normal. Easy!
Simplified Scoring reference card: for your largest stack, 2 points per symbol; for your second largest stack, 1 point per symbol.
For 2 Player Games
Instead of splitting the line of Guys into two groups (boring), the Party Planner must split the line into four groups each round. Play proceeds as normal, but this means each player will be taking two groups of Guys each round, alternating their picks.
Additionally, players may send one Guy to the store for each group of Guys they take (Instead of the normal one per round.)
Special Types of Guys
- Popular Guys: These Guys can be any type of Guy! Players choose which type to stack them with at the end of the game.
- Stinky Guys: These Guys are worth negative points! If only there was some way to negate their smelliness...
- Shy Guys: These Guys are also worth negative points, but Friend cards can be purchased from the Party Store and placed in your Shy Guys pile to reach a large amount quickly.
- Rich Guys: When these guys are sent to the Party Store, the player takes two Party Store cards instead of one.
Item Types
Normal Items: These items give players a guaranteed 2 points at the end of the game.
Special Items: These items score points at the end of the game, but only if you meet the conditions written on the card. When determining the success or failure of a Special Item, ties are ruled in favor of the card holder.
Power Items: These items give the owner a special bonus or ability that lasts the whole game.
Prank Items: Prank items must be used immediately upon purchase. After using a prank item, the player must keep the card in their collection as a reminder of what they've done.
Friend Cards: These are SHY GUYS you can pick up from the store! They are considered Guys, not items.
