Components
- 15 Park Cards. Each card shows an ability and one or more shape icons arranged in a plan.
- 3 Goal Cards. Each Goal Card has a Portfolio (four rounds, each showing icons to match) and a Megapark Plan.
- Shape icons: Rides, Gifts, Games, Food, Shows.
Setup
- Shuffle the Goal Cards, randomly flipping some over as you shuffle. Place 1 on the table and set the others aside (they will not be used).
- Shuffle the Park Cards and place them: a. Place 4 cards face down to form a deck. b. Place 1 card face down covering only the "Portfolio" text on the Goal Card (do not cover round 1). These face-down cards are your reserved cards. c. Deal the remaining cards face down into 3 stacks as evenly as possible. Then, take each stack and flip it over all at once, so the cards are face up but you only know the top card.
- Make space for a build area below the stacks, and a discard pile next to the deck.
Gameplay
The game takes place over two phases.
Portfolio Phase
This phase takes place over 4 rounds. Each round, you will draw cards from the deck, placing each in the build area before drawing the next. Each may be used to start a new park or add to an existing park.
Building Parks
As you add cards to your parks, arrange their shapes to match a plan on one of the stacks. The cards in each park must follow these rules:
- Cards may be rotated in 90° increments.
- Cards may be placed side-by-side or overlapping. If cards overlap, their icons must align (an icon may not be partially covered).
- The park must consist of one contiguous group of visible icons, connected edge-to-edge. Any other icons (covered, connected diagonally, or completely disconnected) are not part of the park.
- Each card may only contribute a single shape to the park. The icons of its other shape may not be connected to the park.
- Each card must contribute at least 1 icon to the park (its icons may not all be covered).
Rearranging Cards
Park Cards are not "locked" in position once played. You may rearrange all of the cards in a park in any way. However, you may not move cards between parks, nor remove cards from a park.
Completing Parks
If one of your parks matches a plan on one of the stacks, and it follows the Building Parks rules, you may complete it as follows:
- If your park matches the plan exactly (with no extra icons), you may optionally use the ability shown next to the matched plan.
- Place all of the cards in your park and the card whose plan you matched face up in the discard pile. (If an ability moves the matched plan, keep it in its new location and only discard your park.)
Example: Either park can complete the plan. Park #1 is a perfect match to the plan, so you could use the Park Card's ability. Park #2 has an extra icon, so the plan is completed but the ability may not be used.
Ending the Round
When the deck is empty or when all stacks are empty, complete the following to end the round:
-
Discard any remaining cards in the build area.
-
Choose 1 or more cards in your discard pile to reserve, and place them face down with the other reserved cards on top of the goal. Each reserved card must have at least 1 icon that matches an icon on the current (topmost) round in the portfolio.
Note: If there are any cards in the discard pile with matching icons, you must reserve at least one.
-
Slide the pile of reserved cards down to cover the current round on the portfolio. If every round is covered, proceed to the Megapark Phase. Otherwise, shuffle the cards in your discard pile to form a new deck, and play the next round.
Megapark Phase
In this phase, try to match the megapark plan on the goal using only your reserved cards. Flip the stack of reserved cards face up, and build a single park following the Building Parks rules with the following exceptions:
- Use all of your reserved cards at once (do not draw them individually from a deck).
- Use only your reserved cards, not any remaining cards in the deck.
- Use only the megapark plan, not any plans on the stacks.
Unlike with normal parks, your megapark may have missing icons, but they will hurt your score. Proceed to Scoring when you are satisfied with your megapark.
Scoring
Compare your megapark with the plan on the goal, and add up penalty points as follows:
- +2 points for each highlighted square in the plan that is not filled with an icon.
- +1 point for each extra icon in your park that is not a highlighted square in the plan.
- +1 point for each icon in the portfolio that is missing from your park.
| Score | Result |
|---|---|
| 0 | Visionary! |
| 1-2 | Imaginative Designer |
| 3-5 | Capable Planner |
| 6+ | Failure |
Example: This megapark has a square that is not filled (+2 points), an extra icon (+1 point), and is missing one of the four rides icons shown on the portfolio (+1 point). It scores 4 penalty points in total.
Expert Mode
Add this scoring rule to increase the difficulty:
- +1 point for each remaining card in the stacks at the end of the game.
