Object of the Game
The goal is to conquer red marbles. The first player to push 7 red marbles off the board is declared the winner.
Setup
The glass marbles are placed on the board as shown in Figure 1.
Each player chooses a color. White begins the game. Before the game starts, Black has the right to choose the orientation of the board: either his own color is in his lower right corner, or it is his opponent's color.
1. Course of the Game
The players play one after the other. One player moves the white marbles, the other the black marbles. The red marbles are neutral. They are the ones the players try to eject from the playing surface.
2. Pushing One of Your Marbles
On his turn, the player pushes one of his marbles one square, vertically or horizontally. The design of the board only allows movement in these two directions. The square from which one pushes one's marble must always be free. This means the player must be able to place his finger directly against his marble to push it (see Figure 2).
3. Moving Your Marbles
When marbles (of your own color, of the opponent, or red marbles) are located behind the marble being pushed, they are carried along in the pushing movement, one square further (see Figure 3). By pushing one marble, a player can thus move up to 6 marbles at once.
4. Important
If a player pushes
a) a single marble of his opponent, or b) a row of marbles ending with a marble of his opponent,
the opponent must wait at least one turn before pushing the row back in the opposite direction. This rule prevents the game from becoming blocked (see Figure 4).
5. Conquering Marbles
When an opponent's marble, or a red marble, is at the edge of the playing surface, it can be pushed off the board into the ejection channel. The marble is then conquered and leaves the game permanently (see Figure 5). It is forbidden to push out a marble of your own color.
Once a marble is conquered, the player has the right to play again. He is not obliged to push the same marble again; he may choose among all his marbles. If he succeeds in conquering another marble, he can play again, and so on. A player can therefore conquer several marbles during the same turn.
6. Storage Squares
The player who conquers a marble immediately places it on a storage square (see Figures 5.b above and 1). The storage squares make it easier to count the conquered marbles. We recommend using the storage squares placed in front of each player for the conquered red marbles, and those on the right for the marbles taken from the opponent.
End of the Game
The winner is the player who first manages to conquer 7 red marbles.
Special case: if a player can no longer push his marbles, or if all his marbles have been conquered by the opponent, he loses the game. The loser plays White in the next game.
A game whose outcome is obvious may be abandoned and a new game started. The important thing is to have fun!
