Components

  • 40 Number Cards (4 Cards of each number (1-10))
  • 8 Special Cards (2 Cards for each type (peek, skip, trade))
  • 40 Banana Tokens
    • 32 Yellow Banana Tokens
    • 8 Black Banana Tokens
  • 1 Game Rulebook

Note: the component list above does not separately list the Skull Cards, although the Card Effect section refers to 2 Skull Cards. Transcribed as printed.

Set Up

  1. The players start with 5 cards in the hand. For the 1st round, the player who most recently ate banana is the 1st Player.
  2. Each player starts the game with 5 Yellow Banana Tokens and 2 Black Banana Tokens. (Yellow Token = 1 Banana, Black Token = 5 Bananas.)
  3. Each player places 2 Bananas as a bet for the 1st round to the bananas pot.
    • For next round, player(s) place bets according to this rule:
      • The player(s) with the most bananas bet 4 bananas.
      • The player(s) with the least bananas bet 1 banana.
      • The remaining player bets 2 bananas.

How to Play

  1. In each turn, the player normally starts by drawing 1 card and playing a card (except for a slip). If there are multiple cards with the same symbol or number, you can play all of them at once. The 1st Player can decide to put the card to his/her left or right; that player will play in the next turn.
  2. If you have card(s) with the same symbol or number as the latest player played, you can do a "Slip", which means you can play that card(s) without drawing a card and take 1 banana from the player who lets you do the "Slip" for each card. If the next player also does a "Slip" again, that player also takes banana(s) from the player who lets the "Slip" begin.

Diagram examples (How to Play):

  • Kong B: draw a card and play number 8 card (Kong B discard pile).
  • Kong A: discard pile. Play number 9 card to the left.
  • Kong C: discard pile. Play number 8 card as slip. Kong C doesn't have to draw and takes 1 banana from Kong B.
  • Kong D: discard pile. Play number 8 and skull cards as slip, then take 2 bananas from Kong B.
  • The bananas pot and the Deck are shown alongside these examples.

Card Effect

When you played card(s), do that card effect X times. (X = amount of cards you played.)

  • Peek Card (x2): Look at 1 card from other player's hand.
  • Skip Card (x2): Skip next target player's turn.
  • Trade Card (x2): Select 1 card in your hand and random a card on other player's hand, then swap both cards.
  • Skull Card (x2): Must play with other card. Skull will acted as the card they played with.

If Peek / Skip / Trade is played more than one card at once, you must target at different players.

Round End

Each round can only end in one of three ways.

  1. Player decides to shout "KONGKANG!!" before slip or draw a card.
    • If the player who shouts KONGKANG has the lowest total point in hand, he/she wins the round. (Non-number cards each have a value of 10.)
    • If not, the player with the lowest total point in hands wins the round, and the player who shouted KONGKANG must remove half of his/her bananas (round down) from the game.
    • Diagram example: Kong C shouts "KONGKANG" but Kong A's hand is lower than his, so he loses half of his tokens.
    • Diagram example: Kong A shouts "KONGKANG" and takes all bets in the pot.
  2. When the deck is run out and the active player can't do a "Slip".
    • The player with the lowest total point in hand wins the round. If tied, the player who is closest to the last played card wins (in turn order).
    • Diagram example: Kong C played the card and the deck is empty; Kong D wins and takes all bets in the pot.
  3. The player who has played all his cards is also a winner.
  4. The winner takes all bets in the pot and becomes the 1st player for the next round.

Game End

  • When a player is unable to bet or pay for a slip, that player loses and is removed from the game.
  • After 3 Rounds, the player who has the most bananas wins.
  • If tied, all remaining players must play until there is only 1 winner.
