Goal of the Game

The goal of the game is to collect hens that lay eggs for you. The farmer with the most eggs wins the game.

Building the Game

Before you start playing, build the game following the LEGO building instructions.

Note that the LEGO Die of this game has 6 faces. The six faces are shown in the setup diagram as: grey, grey, brown, blue, pink, and white (outline only).

The setup diagram labels the following components:

  • Rooster (Haan)
  • Grey hens (Grijze kippen)
  • Brown hens (Bruine kippen)
  • Supply (Voorraad) of eggs
  • LEGO Die (LEGO Dobbelsteen)
  • Worm (Worm)
  • Egg (Ei)

Game Preparation

Place the worm in the middle of the play area so that everyone can reach it easily.

Playing the Game

The youngest farmer begins. Play then continues clockwise. On your turn, roll the LEGO Die.

Grey Hens

If you roll grey, you have a choice:

  • Either take a grey hen from the middle of the play area and place it in front of you. If there are no grey hens left, you may steal one from another player.
  • Or lay an egg for all your grey hens. Take the eggs from the supply and place them with your hens.

Your turn is over.

Brown Hens

If you roll brown, you have a choice:

  • Either take a brown hen from the middle of the play area and place it in front of you. If there are no brown hens left, you may steal one from another player.
  • Or lay an egg for all your brown hens. Take the eggs from the supply and place them with your hens.

Your turn is over.

Rooster

If you roll blue, take the rooster and place it in front of you. Your turn is over.

But if you still have the rooster when your hens lay eggs again, you may take double the amount of eggs from the supply.

Worm

If you roll pink, everyone tries to grab the worm at the same time. The farmer who catches it first receives a bonus: all of his hens, grey and brown, lay an egg. (Remember that the rooster doubles the yield!)

Then place the worm back in the middle of the play area. Your turn is over.

Egg Thief

If you roll white, you may steal an egg from someone else. If there are no eggs to steal, you may take an egg from the supply instead.

Your turn is over.

Winning the Game

The game ends as soon as someone takes the last egg from the supply. The farmer with the most eggs wins the game!

Changing the Game

LEGO Games are made to be changed. Try one of these new rules, or come up with your own. It is better to change only one thing at a time, and remember that everyone must know the rules before you start playing.

Kukeleku!

Change the rules for the rooster. If you now roll blue, everyone calls out "Kukeleku!". The farmer who calls it first gets the rooster. If he already has the rooster, he may steal an egg from someone else.

Heads or Tails?

Change the rules for catching the worm. Before the game begins, remove one of the grey faces from the LEGO Die and replace it with the extra pink face. Also place the worm's tail in the middle of the play area.

Now, if you roll pink, everyone tries to grab the part of the worm shown on the LEGO Die. The farmer who grabs the correct part receives the bonus as normal. But if a farmer grabs the wrong part, he must return an egg to the supply!

The Golden Egg

Change the rules for counting eggs. Before the game begins, place the golden egg with the supply. The golden egg must be taken last, and taking it ends the game immediately. The golden egg is worth three normal eggs.
