Game Idea

One by one and very carefully, you try to take delicious cookies off the roof of the gingerbread house and collect as many as you can. If a player causes the cookie roof to collapse, he will go empty handed. However the player, who at that moment has collected the most cookie cards, receives a candy as a reward. Then you reconstruct the roof and a new round starts. Whoever is the first to collect two candies, wins the game.

Preparation of the Game

Take all the material out of the game box. Insert the lid into the bottom part of the game box. Then, as shown, stick the ten gingerbread cards into the slot between the bottom and the lid. Then, construct the roof with the 36 cookie cards, placing the sides with the cookie face-up. First place a cookie card on each corner and then further cookie cards along the edges between the corners. Once the rim of the roof is quite stable place more cookie cards across the open center.

As all the cookie cards have to be laid out, there should be no gaps in the roof. Put the candies as provisions next to the gingerbread house.

How to Play

Play in a clockwise direction. Whoever has eaten cookies most recently starts the game. If you can not agree, the youngest player starts. Carefully take any cookie card off the roof. If you manage to do so without the roof collapsing, turn the card over and place it front of you, with the side of the tidbit face-up. Then it's the turn of the next player.

When it's your turn again and you have taken a cookie card off the roof, place it again face-up on top of the card(s) you have already collected. But watch out: first you have to compare the tidbit on the new card with the one on the previous card in your pile:

  • Is it a different tidbit? Lucky you! You keep the card and place it face-up on your pile.
  • Is it the same kind of tidbit? Bad luck! Return the cookie card face-down to any part of the roof. Then it's the turn of the next player.

End of a Round

A round is over when the last cookie card has been taken off the roof or the roof collapses. The player who caused the roof to collapse can not win this round.

The other players count the cards in their piles. The player who has collected the most cards receives a candy from the provisions and keeps it in front of him. In the case of a draw the candy is won by the player who counts the most sugar sticks on his cards. If there is still a draw nobody receives a candy.

Note: the printed text reads "In there is still a draw"; it is transcribed here as "If there is still a draw" to match the rule's meaning.

End of the Game

The game ends as soon as a player has collected two candies, thereby winning the game and this player may then leap around the table just like Rumpelstiltskin would.
