Components
- 24 magnetic stones
- 1 cord
- 1 bag
- 1 set of rules (this rulebook)
Setup
Lay the cord as you wish on any flat and horizontal surface.
Divide the 24 magnetic stones evenly between players.
Goal
The first player with no stones left wins.
Play
The player with the most stones left at the end of the last game plays first. In case of equality, or if this is the first game, the smallest player (in height) goes first.
Taking turns, clockwise, players must put one of their stones entirely inside the area delimited by the cord.
During a player's turn, if any stones join together (i.e. kluster!) or get outside the playing area, they have to pick all of them up — even if they haven't touched the stones themselves — and their turn ends immediately, even if they did not have a chance to place a stone yet.
During their turn, players can't touch the stones already laid in the playing area, but they can move the cord — and thereby indirectly move some stones — as long as it stays flat on the playing surface and no stones kluster together in the process.
Players can also use the magnetism of the stones in their hands to move stones already inside the playing area. But be careful: if any stones kluster together in the process, the player picks them up as usual.
Players take turns this way until one of them places their last stone.
Solo Game
To play Kluster solo, all the usual rules apply. However, you may only kluster twice (i.e. pick up stones on two occasions).
The goal is to place as many stones as possible in the playing area. Placing all 24 stones is a total victory!
Safety Note
Not a toy. From 14 years old. This product contains small, really strong magnets. Once swallowed, magnets can stick together through the intestines and cause serious injury. Seek immediate medical attention if you swallow magnets. Keep magnets away from magnetically sensitive devices such as credit cards, computers, CDs, and pacemakers.
