Set-up
- Each player takes one color-coded deck of 12 cards. If playing with 3 people, each player only uses cards 1~9 of their deck.
- The player who looks the most like a cat takes the Boss Marker and becomes the first boss.
How to Play
- The boss gets to choose their feeding ground first, so they select one card from their hand and place it face-down in front of them.
- Next, the other players each put a card face-down in front of themselves. When selecting your card, try to guess the boss' card and avoid choosing a higher number than they did.
- Once everyone has put a card down, flip them over at the same time.
If your card is higher than the boss' card: You can't go to a better feeding ground than the boss! Only cats who are humble and wily in their choice of feeding ground can earn points. Any cards higher than the boss' card become negative.
If your card is lower than the boss' card: Cards lower than what the boss played count as positive cards.
If your card is the same as the boss' card: You tried to go to the same feeding ground as the boss. Bound by his sense of honor, our noble boss concedes his feeding ground to you. When someone plays the same card as the boss, the boss' card becomes negative, and the cards of any other players who played the same number become positive.
After each play, the Boss Marker rotates clockwise to the next player, who becomes the new boss. The round ends after all cards have been played.
Scoring
Points are scored at the end of each game.
- Most positive cards/least negative cards: 2 Point Chip
- Second-most positive cards: 1 Point Chip
- Most negative cards: -1 Point Chip
- After Three games, the person with the most Points wins.
Placing Positive and Negative Cards
After each round, it's useful to place your cards in two rows in front of you, with positive cards vertically and negative cards below them turned horizontally. This helps to keep track of points. Leave them face-up so that the other players can see them easily.
