Objective
King and Peasant is an asymmetric 2 player game. 1 player embodies the role of a King while the other as the Peasants.
Players will go head to head to achieve their objective. Peasants seek to dethrone the King by aiding an Assassin, while the King fights to stay in power by eliminating the Assassin.
The winner of the current Era becomes the King for the next Era. The player who wins 2 Eras will be the overall winner of the game.
Setup

Give both players their respective Reference card. If this is the first Era, the richer player plays as the King.

Give the Sentinel card to the King.

Give the Assassin and Decoy card to the Peasant.

Shuffle the deck and put it within reach of both players.

King draws 4 cards and Peasant draws 3 cards. Each player should have 5 cards in their hand, including Sentinel, Assassin and Decoy cards.

Peasant plays up to 3 Rebels face-down, then King plays up to 3 Guards face-up.
Card Anatomy
King only uses the top half of the card. Card Name, Card Type and Card Effect are shown on the card. Peasant only uses the bottom half of the card.

King Actions (Reference card)
- Ready a Guard
- Mobilize a Guard
- Condemn a Rebel
- Play an Action card
- Pass your turn
- Draw a card at the end of your turn.
Peasant Actions (Reference card)
- Hide a Rebel
- Dispatch/Infiltrate a Rebel
- Return a face-up Rebel back to hand
- Play an Action card
- Draw a card
Playing the Game
- Peasant starts first.
- Perform 1 action listed in your player reference card, then pass your turn.
- Repeat until a player achieves 1 of their goals.
King's Goal
- Assassin in the discard pile.
- No more cards in the deck.
Peasant's Goal
- King draws the Assassin.
- King uses the Condemn action but did not discard the Assassin.
- Dispatch the Assassin when there are no Guards in Town.
End of an Era
The winner of the current Era becomes the King for the next Era.
Reset the game according to Setup.
The player who wins a total of 2 Eras will be the winner of the game.
Reminders/Clarifications
- Guards and Rebels must be in Town in order to use their card effect.
- Decoy/Assassin: These cards MUST be face-down in Town to Infiltrate the deck. You are not allowed to Infiltrate the deck from your hand or when they are face-up in Town.
- Always check the card type before taking an action (Guard/Rebel/Action).
- Peasant can have any number of Rebels in Town. While King can only have a maximum of 3 Guards in Town.
- Both players share 1 deck and discard pile. Cards are discarded face-up.
- There is no maximum hand size.
- Exile: There are only 2 cards with the keyword Exile (Decoy and Sentinel). When discarded, they are removed from the game.
- Discard/Remove: "Remove" discards Guard/Rebels in Town, "Discard" discards cards from hand unless specified otherwise.
- All card effects must be performed to the best of their abilities.
Player Actions (King)
This section describes the player's action in detail without the use of keywords.
- Ready a Guard: Place a Guard from your hand into Town face-up without using its card effect. (Max. 3 Guards in Town)
- Mobilize a Guard: Discard a Guard in Town, then use its card effect.
- Condemn a Rebel: Discard the top card of the deck or a Rebel in Town. If the discarded card is not the Assassin, Peasant wins.
- Play an Action: Play an Action card from your hand, use its card effect, then discard it.
- Pass: Do nothing, end your turn.
- You must draw a card at the end of your turn.
Player Actions (Peasant)
This section describes the player's action in detail without the use of keywords.
- Hide a Rebel: Place a Rebel from your hand into Town face-down without using its card effect.
- Infiltrate the deck: Put a face-down Rebel from Town with the Infiltrate keyword anywhere inside the deck in secret. Do not shuffle the deck while carrying out this action, use the Infiltrate effect only when King draws this card.
- Dispatch a Rebel: Flip a face-down Rebel in Town face-up, then use its card effect. You cannot use this action on a card that is already facing-up.
- Play an Action: Play an Action card from your hand, use its card effect, then discard it.
- Return a face-up Rebel back to hand: Take a face-up Rebel in Town and put it back into your hand.
- Draw a card: Draw 1 card from the deck.
