Roles
- Conspirators (Kill Kim): You are the majority. Your objective is to get rid of Kim.
- Fanatics (Save Kim): Loyal to Kim, you know who your allies are. Stay hidden to foil the Conspirators' plot.
- CIA: Discredit Kim's entourage to bring down the regime.
All players have an interest in pretending that their objective is Kill Kim.
Starting a Game
Each player takes 2 Prestige points and chooses 1 Identity card, which they place in front of them. Each player then receives 1 Top Secret card (see Versions and Objectives by Number of Players, below), which they look at discreetly.
With 6 to 10 players: all players close their eyes. Players whose mission is Save Kim open their eyes, recognise one another, and close their eyes again.
How the Game Proceeds
-
Each player is dealt 2 Vote cards and looks at them.
At any time during the game, if a player has 2 Scandal cards, they may place them on the table and remove 1 Prestige point from the player of their choice. They then draw 2 more cards.
-
Each player may stand as a candidate to be the Plot Leader for the first round.
-
Place the Leader token in the centre of the table. Each player who stands as a candidate places their Identity card in front of the token. If 2 or more players want to be Leader, an election takes place.
If nobody has stood for the election, 1 Identity card is drawn at random from among the players who are not discredited (without removing any Prestige point).
-
Players who did not stand as candidates, and who still have at least 1 Prestige point, raise their arm and all designate a player at the same time. Abstaining from designating someone is allowed during an election.
If the election ends in a tie, 1 Identity card is drawn at random from among the candidates, and those who are not elected lose 1 Prestige point.
-
Each player chooses one of their 2 Vote cards and places it in front of them face down. They keep the other card in hand.
A card that has been placed is played and cannot be taken back.
-
The Leader, after discussion, selects 3 Vote cards from among those played (except their own). One of these 3 cards may be the top card of the draw pile. The Leader shuffles the 3 cards without looking at them, then shows them to all players.
-
For each Scandal card selected, the Leader must remove 1 Prestige point from a player of their choice, from among the players whose cards they took. The Leader cannot remove 2 Prestige points from the same player.
If the Leader cannot assign certain Scandals (for example, because some players are already discredited, and/or a card came from the draw pile), the Leader loses 1 Prestige point themselves.
End of the Game
The CIA wins if the number of discredited players (other than the CIA agents themselves) matches its objective.
The Conspirators win if they have set aside as many Kill cards as their objective.
The Fanatics win if they complete as many rounds as their objective, with at least 1 Veto card.
If the CIA reaches its objective in the same round as the Fanatics or the Conspirators, the CIA loses.
Clarifications
-
With 9 players, if 4 people have been discredited (or 3, with 10 players), to find out whether none of them is a CIA agent (which would end the game), take the 3 role cards face down, shuffle them, and turn them over, covering the lower two-thirds of each card with your hand so that only the black part is visible.
Translator's note: the French sheet says "les 3 cartes rôles" and does not give a different count for 10 players. The Italian edition says 3 cards for 9 players and 4 cards for 10 players. The French text is transcribed as printed.
-
When there are not enough cards in the draw pile, shuffle the discard pile into it.
-
During the game, you may not show your Vote cards, nor discuss the contents of your Top Secret cards (weapon icons).
Number of Vote Cards
- 18 Kill cards
- 20 Veto cards
- 22 Scandal cards

Tips
Save Kim
- Never reveal your secret role!
- Do not play your Veto cards too early; pretend to be a Kill Kim.
- Playing both of your Scandal cards helps the CIA a lot; use them sparingly.
- Try not to play your Veto cards at the same time as another Save Kim; one is enough.
CIA
- Never reveal your secret role!
- Make the game last in order to win.
- Become Leader as soon as possible.
Kill Kim
- Playing both of your Scandal cards helps the CIA a lot; use them sparingly.
- It is sometimes better to play 3 Veto cards in the same round; only one will count.
