Game Specifics

  • Ages 6 and up
  • For 2 to 5 players
  • Duration of a round: 3 to 5 minutes
  • Duration of a game: 15 to 20 minutes

1. How to Play the Game

  • Deal 7 cards to each player. Place the other cards in a face-down draw pile in the middle of the table. Examine your cards without showing them to the other players.
  • The player wearing the largest amount of colors starts the game. The starting player chooses 2 of the 4 dice and rolls them.
  • All players now simultaneously have to try to play one or more cards from their hand as quickly as possible, keeping in mind the restrictions indicated by the 2 dice.

Important

  • The total number of cards placed on the table can't exceed the number of players.
    • In a 2-player game, only a total of 2 cards can be placed on the table. In a 3-player game, only a total of 3 cards can be placed on the table, etc.
  • You're allowed to play several of your cards in the same round, but you have to play them one by one. This means that if you take too long to play a card, or if you don't have any cards that match the criteria on the dice, another player could beat you to it.
  • When all players have played a card (or not), the cards are discarded and the player to the left of the starting player takes their turn by rolling 2 of the 4 dice.

There Are 5 Possible Dice Combinations

  1. The 2 dice show different colors: you must play one or more cards that contain at least both of these colors. Example: the cards you play must contain red and purple.
  2. One die shows a color, and the other a crossed-out color: you must play one or more cards that contain the first color, but they can't contain the second color. Example: the cards you play must contain red, but can't contain orange.
  3. The 2 dice show different crossed-out colors: you must play one or more cards that don't contain either of these colors. Example: the cards you play can't contain yellow or blue.
  4. One die shows a color and the other shows the same color, but crossed out: the player who rolled the dice chooses one of the options - either with or without the color - and announces this out loud. Example: the player who rolled the dice decides whether or not the cards you play can contain red.
  5. Both dice show the same color (crossed-out or not): play as if there was only one die.

The 2 Kezao Cards

These 2 cards are jokers. You can play them at any time, regardless of the combination that was rolled.

The Draw Pile

If you make a mistake and play a card that doesn't match the combination indicated by the dice, you must take back your card and draw 3 new cards.

In that case, you can't play any more cards this turn. By taking back your card, you free a slot on the table: another player can now place a card there.

2. End of the Game

  • The round ends when one of the players manages to play their final card. This player receives 1 point.
  • If two players put down their last card at the same time, they both win 1 point.
  • If 2 players manage to play their final card at the same time, they each receive 1 point. In the next round, the player to the left of the starting player gets to start.
  • The game continues like this until a player reaches 3 points and wins the game.

3. Variants

Kids

In order to make the game easier for children, consider rolling only 1 die instead of 2.

Cards on the Table

In this variant, players must play their cards in front of themselves. During the game, you have to try and keep an eye on the other players' mistakes.
