What This Is

Hack Forward is an escape game that mixes puzzles, narrative, and technology. A box full of mysteries and enigmas will reach your hands. With the materials, codes, and clues hidden inside, you must use your ingenuity and match the objects to solve the case.

This complete game set includes Part One, Part Two, and Part Three of the story. Players who do not want to commit to the whole game can start with Part One and then decide whether to purchase the next two parts.

The game is available in English, Spanish, French, and German.

What's in the Box

The box contains 100+ puzzles with their respective instructions and hints to help you solve the chapters. The box also contains four different types of envelopes full of surprises. Within these envelopes, respectively, are more enigmas and other objects that you'll have to open when the character tells you.

Besides this, the game also contains digital content: more than 7 web pages that make you interact with up to 9 different characters in different ways (chats, phone calls, email, videos, and more).

The box is the heart of the project — it is the material that serves as a bridge to connect the physical and digital world to live an immersive experience.

What You Need

Almost everything you need is in the box. Just make sure you have a device with a good internet connection at your disposal.

How to Play

Your experience begins once you get the box (or envelope). Read the instructions carefully, type the game code into your investigator account, and then the fun begins.

Go through the story, examine the special material and documents from the box, and inspect every website, social media account, or maybe send an email or even make a call. All the possibilities are there.

You'll get a mix of traditional puzzles, immersive/digital puzzles, codes, and advanced puzzles.

Getting Help

If you need help or get stuck, you will always be in contact with a character in the story who will guide you — don't hesitate to ask for help. In addition, a chat is always active that will connect you with someone from the Key Enigma team in case you have a problem related to a website.

Replaying and Lending the Game

If some paper breaks or is used up, Key Enigma has enabled a section where you can download the printable material of each chapter so that you can play again as many times as you want. You can find the game's files at play.keyenigma.com once you activate the game.

The game key can be used as many times as you want and in as many accounts as you want.

You can also lend the game to someone else: prepare the box with the materials as they were when you received it, and be sure to include the instructions sheet. The new player can then log in at play.keyenigma.com with their own username and password and use the game key that appears on the instructions sheet. The game key can be used as many times as you like.

Free Demo

A free demo of the first chapter of the story can be played online. Because it is online only, the demo covers about half of the full experience; finishing it is a way to decide whether to add the physical box to complete the experience.
