Game Info

2 to 4 players, 20 minutes, from 8 years

Game Material

  • 3 green Keltis dice (1-2-3-4-5-stone)
  • 30 stone tiles
  • 55 value chips (in 5 colors, the values 0 to 10)
  • a scoring table

The stone tiles could be real stones.

Game preparation

The value chips are separated in 5 columns of increasing values (one column per color).

The stone tiles are laid in a pile nearby. For two players, 6 stones are put back into the box before the game. For 3 players, 3 stones are put back into the box before the game.

The score table is displayed for all to see.

Game preparation

The player who went last to Ireland begins. If one cannot determine this, the oldest player starts.

Then it goes round in a clockwise direction. During his turn, a player throws the three dice once. After that, he can choose to re-roll one, two or three dice (or no dice). The player now chooses to play one of the 3 following options:

1. The player chooses one, two or all three of his dice and add their values together. A die showing a stone counts for 0. The player then takes a chip of this value from the center and places it face up in front of him.

Examples:

(5-1-1) With this result, the sums 1, 2, 5, 6 or 7 can be formed.

(3-stone-4) With this result, the sums 0, 3, 4, or 7 can be formed.

Then the player must lay down this chip on the table in front of him. The chips must be laid according to their color. If no chips of that color have already been laid, the player must start a new column with the chip. If a column of this color has already been started, then the player must lay the chip above the other chips of that color. The values of all these chips must always be visible, and the player should build the columns leading away from him.

The player must lay down the chips in one of two ways: Either he places the chips in ascending order, or he places them in descending order. Once a player has laid down two chips of the same color, the sorting order for this color is set for the rest of the game (for this player).

Stones: if the player takes a chip with a stone on it, then he immediately takes a stone tile from the pile and lays it down face up in front of him for all to see.

Clover: if the player takes a chip with a clover on it, then he immediately takes a stone tile from the pile and lays it down face down in the same color column before laying down the chip he has just taken. This extra token counts as an additional chip for the color column in the final score.

Examples:

The green 9 chip immediately gives an extra stone tile to the player.

The red 2 chip immediately gives an extra token for the red column.

2. The player takes as many stone tiles from the center of the table as he has stones on his dice. The player then lays down these tiles face up in front of him for all to see.

3. The player can also choose to take no value chips.

After the player has selected one of the three described options, his turn ends and he passes the dice to the next player clockwise.

End of the game

The game ends when:

  • a player takes the last value chip of a color from the center of the table
  • OR when a player takes the last stone tile from the center of the table

The player still ends his turn as usual.

Variation: The game ends only when a player takes the last stone tile from the center.

Scoring

The score of each player is the sum of the 4 following scores.

Color series

Each of the five columns gives points to the player according to the number of chips it contains:

Chips in columnPoints
9 or more10
87
76
63
52
41
3-2
2-3
1-4

If a player has no chips from a color, then he scores no points for that color.

Wish stones

Each player gets points according to the number of stone he has collected.

3-2
2-3
1-4
0-7

Bonus points

In addition, every player gets as many bonus points as he has on his value chips. (The scoring image shows this as 1 point per gold coin.)

Goblins or druids

Finally, each player counts the number of goblins he has. The player (or players) who has the most gets 3 points. The player (or players) with the least loses 3 points. No points are awarded if all players have the same number of goblins.

(The scoring image labels these figures as leprechauns, and shows +3 Pts for most, 0 Pts for a tie, and -3 Pts for fewest.)

The player with the most points wins. If players have the same number of points, then there are several winners.
