New Rules
The following rules are added to the base game rules:
I. "Hands Inward" Cards
When one of these cards is turned over, all players must place their hand on top of the totem so that it does not fall. The player who places their hand first is the winner, and the player who places their hand last is the loser. The loser takes the winner's face-up cards, their own face-up cards, and any cards lying in the middle of the table (if there are any). They then place all of them face-down under their stack of face-down cards, and play continues. If the totem fell at the moment you were placing your hands on it, and it can be clearly determined which player knocked it over, that player must take all the cards (the players' face-up cards and the cards in the middle of the table). If it is unclear who is responsible for the totem falling, the "Hands Inward" card is removed and play continues.
Do not confuse this card with the "Inward-Facing Arrows" card. If you make an incorrect move (for example, grab the totem instead of placing your hand on top of it), you are penalized as for any other mistake (you take all face-up cards from the table).
II. "Pass It Forward" Card
From the moment this card is turned over, players play not with their own symbols but with the symbols of the player to their left. This means a player takes part in a duel only if the card of their left-hand neighbor triggered the duel. However, the stake in any duel is always the player's own cards that take part in it.
- The player who turned over this card places it beside their stack so that all players can see the card is active. In doing so, the player turns over another card, which counts as their last played card (from the point of view of the player on the right).
- The effect of this card lasts until some event occurs (for example, the totem falls or is grabbed, or another arrows card is turned over).
- If a second "Pass It Forward" card is turned over, the symbol to watch moves one more step to the left.
Special case: if a duel takes place between two players, the effect of the "Pass It Forward" card ends after the duel. However, the 2 cards that triggered the duel remain visible (because in the duel the players' own cards are played, while the duel is triggered by the cards of their left-hand neighbor). Therefore these cards are visible but not active, unless a third card of this type is turned over, which leads to a three-way duel. The winner of a three-way duel distributes their cards among the losing players as they wish.
III. "Colored Arrows" Cards
These cards must be used in games with 4 or more players (for 3 players, see the alternate rules in the base game). When a player turns over this card, all players whose cards show matching colors must try to grab the totem, regardless of the symbols on those cards. This round is played in the same way as a normal duel. If more than one duel arises at the same time, the duel that actually takes place cancels the others. In a duel involving several players, the winner decides how the cards are distributed among the losing players. In a game with fewer than 6 players, the effect of this card continues until the card is covered. In a game with 6 players or more, the effect of this card ends as soon as the totem is grabbed or falls…
End of Game
With the increased number of "arrows" cards now used in the game, the following rules apply at the end of the game:
- If the last card turned over by a player is any arrows card other than "Inward-Facing Arrows", that player immediately takes all face-up cards and continues the game…
- However, if the last card turned over is an "Inward-Facing Arrows" card, and the player who turned it over fails to grab the totem, that player must take all face-up cards (instead of the duel winner placing their cards in the middle of the table). Thus, for this card there is no change compared with the base set.
