Rules
Before starting the board is puzzled together from 4 pieces. The golden disks are turned even side up. One empty disk is a reserve disk and is put aside. The disks are carefully shuffled and placed at random on the red circles. Now nobody knows where each specific disk is located. Each player chooses his own man or "giant" and places it in Rio de Janeiro where everybody starts. Each player receives 300 pesos travelling money.
The player who throws the highest number with the dice starts. Then the game continues clockwise. The player may travel by land, by sea or by air and choose his own route.
Buying the disks
Upon arriving on a red circle the player may turn over the disk by paying 100 pesos. If the player does not have money or if he does not want to pay, he can get the disk by throwing 4, 5 or 6 with the dice. If the player does not succeed, he must wait for his next turn to throw again. To arrive on a red circle you don't have to use all the spots the dice shows. Disks that are turned over should be removed from the board.
The disks
Inca's Treasure (1 pc) or the Golden Sun Boy that must be taken to Machu Picchu.
Golden Cup (3 pcs): The player receives 1000 pesos.
Silver necklace (4 pcs): The player receives 600 pesos.
Antique pottery (4 pcs): The player receives 300 pesos.
Indian guide (2 pcs): The player may move his man to any place on the board. The move must be made during the same turn and may not be saved for later.
The Lucky Sun (8 pcs): Worthless until one of the players has found Inca's Treasure. See "The winner is..."
The Devil (3 pcs): The player looses all his money.
Empty disk (10 pcs): Worthless sand.
Pictures of the disks, except for the empty one, are on the back of the box.
Travelling by land
To travel by land is free of charge. The player travels on stone roads built by the Incas as many spots as the dice shows and chooses his route freely.
Travelling by sea
To travel by sea costs 100 pesos. The payment allows you to travel as long as you stay on sea. Stopping at the red circles of the harbours or finding the Devil causes no new payment. Only if you take a step inland, you have to pay again.
If the player does not have money or if he does not want to pay, he may travel by sea gratis moving 2 steps on each of his turns. In this way no player is abandoned on an island if the Devil has taken his money. Note that the Amazon river is also a sea route.
Travelling by air
To travel by air along the red line from one circle to another costs 300 pesos. The dice is not thrown.
Blind alleys
Due to difficult terrain there are blind alleys where you cannot advance. You have to return the same way you came there.
Rewards at Cap Horn, Iguazu and Iquitos
The first player to reach Cap Horn receives 500 pesos. In Iguazu and Iquitos the reward is 200 pesos. Cap Horn is located in the southern tip, the Iguazu Falls in the middle of the board and Iquitos in the upper reaches of the Amazon.
The winner is...
The winner is the player who finds Inca's Treasure, the Golden Sun Boy and takes it to Machu Picchu. If, however, another player finds a Lucky Sun after the Golden Sun Boy has been found and reaches Machu Picchu first, this player is the winner.
