Gameplay

Assists

During the players' decision phase each turn, a player may now also choose 'Assist' if they have not already exited the temple ruins. To do this, place the card face down in front of you as you would 'Explore' or 'Exit' when all players are making their simultaneous decision. When the cards are revealed, quickly direct the card toward another player:

  • If that player has chosen 'Exit', after they collect the gems they are to collect for leaving the temple ruins and before the gems are placed in their tent, remove gems up to 5 treasure-value from the player and place them next to your tent. The targeted player then places any remaining gems in their tent as normal. Return your 'Assist card to the game box. You continue into the temple as if you had played the 'Explore' card.
  • If that player chose 'Explore', nothing happens. Return your 'Assist card to the game box. You continue into the temple as if you had played the 'Explore' card.
  • If that player chose 'Assist', nothing happens. Return your 'Assist card to the game box. You continue into the temple as if you had played the 'Explore' card.

Events

At the beginning of each round, the Guide reveals the Event card for that round reading aloud the effect. This effect is an additional rule for that round (and that round only). The effect of an Event card always overrides the rule in the rulebook, if the two contradict each other.

  • Plentiful Gems - Each time a new Hazard type is revealed for this round, share 5 turquoise Treasures as if it were a Treasure card.
  • Overlooked Treasures - Each player who Exits alone earns an additional turquoise 5 Treasures, taken from the supply.
  • Wrong Turn - If you are the only player to Exit, you do not Exit, but Explore instead, unless you are the last one in the Temple.
  • Bold Explorers - The round ends as soon as the 3rd identical Hazard is revealed (not the 2nd).
  • Hazardous Journey - The round also ends as soon as 4 different types of Hazards are revealed.
  • Hasty Explorers - When exploring new rooms, reveal 2 Quest cards simultaneously instead of one.
  • Scrambling Exit - When more than one player Exits, divide the remaining Treasures card per card, not all at once.
  • Lost Treasures - When advancing through the Temple, the Treasures remaining after sharing are returned to the supply.
  • Dangerous Paths - When advancing through the Temple, do not share any Treasures. They can only be obtained when a player Exits.

End of the Game

The end of the game remains unchanged: the player who has recovered the highest total Treasure value is declared the winner.
