1 jigsaw puzzle game board (3-piece), 4 wooden piglets, 6 racing cards, 16 apple tiles, 1 set of game instructions.
Game Preparations
First put together the three jigsaw puzzle pieces of the game board. Then place the 16 apple tiles on both collection spaces with the feed boxes (8 apples per feed box). Choose a piglet and place it on one of the two collection spaces. Divide the figures evenly so that not all players begin on the same collection space.
If there are fewer than 4 players, place the remaining piglets face down on any free racing space. Although these piglets don't play along, they can let you jump (see: Jumping piglets). Shuffle the racing cards and place them next to the game board.
How to Play
Play in a clockwise direction. The player who can whistle the loudest may begin.
Whistling Piglets
Take the 6 racing cards into your hand and choose one of them; place the chosen card face-down in front of you. The player on your left must now guess the number on this card.
- Did the player guess wrong? You're lucky! You may now move with your piglet as many spaces clockwise as the number that your fellow player called incorrectly. Now flip over the card chosen from your hand face up in front of you. If you would like the player to your left to guess again, you have to whistle briefly. Or you can choose to end your round and pass all 6 racing cards to the player on your left.
- Did the player on your left guess correctly? Then he or she may move their piglet as many spaces clockwise as the number on the card that you selected. Your round thereby ends immediately. Pass the 6 racing cards to the player on your left.
Then the next player takes their turn. He or she takes the 6 racing cards into their hand and selects one card, looks at it and places it face-down.
Snatching Apples from the Feed Box
When you move past one of the two collection spaces with the feed boxes or land on it, you may take an apple tile and place it in front of you. Several piglets may be on the collection spaces at the same time.
Jumping Piglets
Only one piglet may stand or lie on the racing spaces (all the spaces other than the collection spaces). If you end a move with your piglet on a racing space on which another piglet is already standing or lying, you simply continue to jump, namely by the same number of points with which you just moved. (It's like having a "double move".) If you are really lucky, you can even jump several times in a row.
End of the Game
When a player has collected 4 apple tiles, the game is over, and he or she wins the clever pig rally for the tasty apples.
