Setup
- Place the lid of the box in the center of the table.
- Place the game board on top of the lid.
- Place 5 small ice floes with the double-arrow icon at the center of the board.
- Surround these with 5 ice floes with seals, 10 ice floes with hunters, 10 whales, 10 fishing boats, and fill up the rest of the board with blank ice floes. Make sure the board is as full as it can get, with nothing but blank ice floes sticking out of it.
- Make a supply with all remaining ice floats besides the board, and place the remaining pieces somewhere you can easily reach them.
- Place seals and hunters on the ice floats with these icons. Place them right on the icons.
- Choose a starting player.
Gameplay
The starting player starts their turn by shoving 2 ice floes from the supply onto the board. After that, play continues clockwise, with players shoving 3 ice floes onto the board during their turn.
Picking ice floes from the supply
Players may choose any ice floes from the supply to shove onto the board. They can't choose any floes shoved off the board in their own turn. Floes with the double-arrow icon do not count towards the 3 floes per turn limit.
Shoving
Players can choose any side of the board for each ice floe. Wherever they decide to shove an ice floe, they have to push it in a straight line until 100% of the ice floe is onto the game board. They can't push it any further, retract it, or stop before the floe lays fully on the game board.
If fishing boats or hunters fall off the board, the player keeps them for scoring.
If seals or whales fall off the board, the turn ends immediately. Any ice floes separated for future use go back to the supply. The animals that fell off the board and all boats and hunters that fell in the same shove are placed with the remaining pieces.
All ice floes that fall off the board go back into the supply.
If a player chooses an ice floe with a seal or hunter icon the corresponding piece is placed on the icon at the end of the turn.
Tip!
Players can choose any side of the board for each ice floe. Wherever they decide to shove an ice floe, they have to push it in a straight line until 100% of the ice floe is onto the game board. They can't push it any further, retract it, or stop before the floe lays fully on the game board.
Game End
When a player gets to a score of 5 enemies, they win the game immediately! Alternately, if there are no more hunters and fishing boats on the board, the game ends, and the player with the highest score win, with tied players sharing the victory!
