Components
- 50 task cards
- 2 rule cards
- 1 spare card
We strongly recommend: do NOT read the task cards before the start of the game.
Setup
Deal each player one card face down. Put the remaining cards back in the box; they will not be used during the game. Everyone looks at their own cards without showing them to the other players.
Each card contains three tasks worth 1, 2 and 3 points.
To keep track of the score, we recommend using a sheet of paper on which the players can record the points they lose or earn during the game.
Agree on the length of the game in advance. For example: the game ends at 23:00. We recommend allowing at least two hours for the game.
Goal of the Game
The goal of the game is to earn points. You earn points when you complete tasks and when you catch other players completing their tasks. You lose points for each task you fail to complete and for each incorrect accusation.
Gameplay
Your goal: complete your task and guess which tasks the other players are completing, in order to catch them.
1. Completing a Task
Each card lists three actions, which must be performed unobtrusively.
Each task must be completed openly, in front of at least one witness. After completing a task, the player must wait 30 seconds before announcing it to the others. Then they mark the number of points earned for completing the task (it is shown on the card).
Examples of tasks: "Drink a large glass of milk", "Applaud", "Start a conversation about Greco-Roman wrestling".
Special case: if a player cannot complete one of their tasks because, for example, it requires drinking milk and there is no milk anywhere nearby, the player may exchange their task card for another one.
2. Catching a Player
When a player thinks that another player in the game is completing a task, they may catch that player by saying loudly (so that everyone can hear): "Gotcha! I think you..." and then add the conditions of the task. For example: "Gotcha! I think you had to drink milk."
If the accusation is close to the truth, as in the previous example, the accuser receives 2 points.
In ambiguous situations, the witnesses state their opinion and the decision is made by majority.
An exposed player neither gains nor loses points. If the accuser is wrong, they lose 1 point.
End of the Game
When the agreed-upon time arrives, each player adds up their points, then subtracts one point for each task they did not complete.
It is always better to try to complete a task, even if you get caught, than to lose points by not completing it at all.
The player with the most points is the winner. A tie is possible.
Variant: Multiple Games
The letters (A, Б, В, Г and Д) on the cards allow you to play again with the same group without repeating the same tasks. For example, use series A in the first game and series Б for the next one, and so on. Remind the players not to catch a performer if that task has already appeared for them before.
Without delay, give a player a second card if they have already completed all of their tasks but the game is not yet over.
Ethical Note
