Things to Note

Don't overthink your guess—it's all about enjoying the absurdity and having fun!

Measurements can span from incredibly big to incredibly small. Keep this in mind, and remember not to take yourself or your measurements too seriously. For those who can't resist a debate, please consult the Crybaby Compendium.

If the answer is less than 10, round to the nearest tenth (4.296 = 4.3). If the answer is 10 or more, round to the nearest whole number (156.89 = 157).

As you consider your measurements, think about how objects are perceived in the real world:

  • Tall: Did you know that a GIRAFFE is 19 GALLONS OF MILK tall? (x19)
  • Weight: Did you know that a BLUE WHALE weighs as much as 21 SCHOOL BUSES? (x21)
  • Length: Did you know that a STOP SIGN is as long as 7 CLOWN FISH? (x7)

Alternative Gameplay

For a more laid-back and casual game night, you can skip the "VOTE" element (5) and just have everyone write down their guess on their whiteboard. The closest guess earns a point!

Contents

  • 150 Cards (over 1,000 facts)
  • 15 Tokens
  • Crybaby Compendium
  • 8 Dry-Erase Whiteboards
  • Built-In Scoreboard
  • 8 Dry-Erase Pens

Setup

  1. Place shuffled cards in the center of the group.
  2. Each player selects a token, dry-erase pen, and one dry-erase whiteboard.
  3. Prepare to stretch your imagination and make wild guesses as you compare the uncomparable.

Getting Started

  1. The game begins with the shortest player drawing a card from the deck. This player becomes the card reader.

Note: Each player will rotate as the card reader. During your turn as the card reader, you will ask the group two questions from the same card, choosing from eight different options.

  2. The card reader chooses one of the eight options to read aloud to the group as their first question.

Note: The answers are on the back of the card, so be sure to keep them hidden from the rest of the group.

  3. All players, except the card reader, now write their guesses on their whiteboards.

  4. Players reveal their guesses simultaneously.

ATTENTION CARD READER! We know it's tough, but do not reveal the answer just yet!

  5. Now that all guesses are revealed, each player (except the card reader), will vote by placing their token on the whiteboard of the player they believe has the closest guess to the correct answer.

Note: If you're feeling confident, you can place your token on your own whiteboard, earning a bonus point if your board wins.

  6. The card reader will now reveal the correct answer, and points are tallied accordingly. See "SCORING".

If multiple players write the same winning answer, shake hands and share the victory!

  7. Using the same card, the card reader will choose a second option to read to the group, repeating steps 3-6.

  8. After the card reader's turn concludes and points are tallied, gameplay moves to the left. A new player will become the card reader and draws a card from the deck to start their turn, repeating steps 2-7.

End of Game

For 2-5 players, play until each player has been the card reader twice. For 6-8 players, play until each player has been the card reader once. After the final round, the player with the most points wins.

Scoring

  • 1 point is awarded to the player who wrote the closest guess to the answer (1).
  • 1 point is awarded for each player who placed a token on the winning whiteboard (2).
  • 1 additional bonus point is awarded if you wrote the closest answer AND placed your token on the winning whiteboard (1).

Note: As a guesser, you can earn a maximum of 3 points. Closest answer wins – going 'over' is no big deal!

Example from the rules sheet (question "How many ___ is a giraffe tall?", correct answer 19 Gallons of Milk; the winning whiteboard is the one written 18):

  • Player 1 (Bowling Pin) = 3 Points
  • Player 2 (Football) = 1 Point
  • Player 3 (Giraffe) = 0 Points
