Aim of the Game
Move the shepherdess, her sheep, and her dog to the sheepfold before the storm destroys the bridge.
Game Setup
The English rules set up the game with three numbered diagrams and no written step text. The steps below describe what the diagrams show.
- Lay the four game boards in a row, in the order shown, joining them into one long path. The arrows above the boards show the direction of the path. Place the 9 sheep, the shepherdess and the dog on the first board, on the mountain side, as shown in diagram 1.
- Place the bridge and stand the pillars in the bridge's holes, as shown in diagram 2. The pillars are 8 beige and 2 red; the red pillars are placed in the positions shown in the diagram. Place the wooden stick beside the bridge.
- Assemble the sheepfold and place it at the end of the path, as shown in diagram 3 and the final picture.
Playing the Game
Players take turns in clockwise order. The youngest player starts by rolling the die.
Each die result lets the player move figures as follows:
- Flower: Move one of the figures from the mountain to the countryside.
- Bridge: Move one of the figures from the countryside to the bridge.
- Sheepfold: Move one of the figures from the bridge to the sheepfold.
- Sun: Move one figure of your choice to the next board.
- Double Sheep: Move two figures of your choice to the next board.
- Storm: Remove a bridge pillar with the wooden stick.
Important: The shepherdess must always be at the front of the herd and the dog must always be at the back of the herd.
End the Game
If the players move all the figures to the sheepfold before the storm destroys the bridge, they win the game. However, if the bridge collapses before all figures move to the sheepfold, the players lose.
