  • 25 Contract cards
  • 75 Hero cards
  • 4 Castle cards (including 1 starting player card)

Objective

Each player collects their heroes by color in front of him. The player with the most and second most heroes in each color scores when game ends. You can scout other player's heroes or secure your heroes by using contract cards. Whenever heroes secured, the player with the most heroes of that color scores.

Preparation

Take as many castle cards, including starting player card, as the players. Each player randomly draws a castle card. The player with the starting player card becomes the starting player and starts the game.

Shuffle contract cards and hero cards together and make the card deck in the middle of the table.

Each player takes three cards from the deck and puts them in front of himself by color. If you draw contract card, put it aside and draw until each player draws three hero cards. When every player has three hero cards in front of them, shuffle all remaining cards together.

Each player draws five cards from the deck.

Game Play

In your turn, you must choose one of the following two actions.

  1. Play hero cards
  2. Play contract cards

After finishing the action, fill your hand to five. And play proceeds to the next player.

1. Play hero cards

Play up to five hero cards. Sort the cards in front of you by color. When you play multiple cards, the cards should be the same color or have the same icon. (Goblet, Sword or Fan)

After playing hero cards, you can scout one card from each player sitting next to you. Take one corresponding color or icon hero card from them and add them to you hero pool. If you played one card or multiple cards with both same color and same icon, you have to choose either one. You can only scout topmost hero of each color.

Example 1) You play three red hero cards. You can scout a red hero from each player sitting next to you.

Example 2) You play three goblet icon hero cards. You can scout a goblet icon hero from each player sitting next to you.

Example 3) You play two red hero cards which have goblet icons. You should announce whether you played red hero cards or goblet icon hero cards. You can only scout heroes of that aspect. (You cannot scout goblet icon hero from left player and red icon hero from right player.)

2. Play contract cards

You can play up to five contract cards in a turn. There are two ways of using contract cards.

1) Scout

Take any topmost hero card from any player and add it to your hero pool.

2) Secure

Pick one color and put a contract card on top of your hero pile of that color. Each player counts the heroes of that color and the player with the most heroes of that color scores a point. Put one card of that color under his castle. If there is a tie, every tied player scores one point each.

You can still put hero cards on a contract card. Hero cards under contract cards are secured and never scouted by other players.

You can mix either function of appointment cards in a turn. You can use first appointment card for scouting, second appointment card for securing and third appointment card for scouting again.

Round Ends and Scoring

When the deck runs out and one player cannot refill his hand, it is the last round. The round ends after the last player (right player of starting player) plays his turn. If it happens on the last player's turn, the round ends immediately.

After each round, players compare who has most hero cards in each color. Scored hero cards which are under the castle do not count.

The player who has the most hero cards in each color scores three points and put three hero cards under his castle. (If there are less than three hero cards in that color, only score that amount.) If there are multiple players tied the most, each tied player score one point.

The second most player in each color scores one point and put one hero card under his castle. If there are multiple players tied as most or second most, second most player scores nothing.

Count hero cards under each player's castle. Write down the numbers as their score.

Game Ends

After scoring, starting player exchanges his castle card with the player to his left. The new round begins with the new starting player.

The game ends after as many rounds have been played as there are players. For example, if there are three players, the game ends after three rounds.

2-Player Variant

In the 2-player variant, there is a virtual player. The virtual player also starts game with three hero cards. When it is virtual player's turn, draw a card from the deck and place it in front of him if it's a hero card. If it's a contract card, discard it. Hero cards of virtual player also counts when scoring.
