Card Notes
- Each Siege Engine card shows its Resource cost, its Building Requirement line ("No Building Requirement" on all three types), and a set of small icons (battle bonus, unit count and Battle strength markers) that are not legible enough in the source scan to transcribe. The printed card is the authority for those values; they are shown above as placeholders rather than guessed.
- The Ballista and Catapult distance values and the Catapult "for each" count are icon-based in the printed card text and are likewise shown as placeholders.
- The card text in the source is set in small type over a low-resolution card image; placeholders mark where the source did not yield a reliable reading.
Siege Engine Gameplay Rules
Setup: After constructing them, place the 6 Siege Engine Constructs (3 different types) and their 6 Siege Engine Cards in an area within reach of the players.
Building/Recruiting: Siege Engines are Units any player can acquire by taking or following a Build or Recruit Action:
- Pay the cost in Resources listed on each Siege Engine's card (different for each type).
- After building or recruiting it, place the Construct in your Courtyard or a Region with a Tower you control.
- Take the Siege Engine's Card and place it in your play area.
Each player may only have 1 of each type of Siege Engine in play. Siege Engines do not have prerequisite buildings in your Capital City to be built or recruited.
Moving: Siege Engines have [Movement icon], but cannot move alone. They must always move with at least 1 Serf, Warrior, or Hero controlled by the player, and they cannot enter Vessels. Also, Siege Engines outside of a Courtyard MUST ALWAYS be in a Region with at least 1 other Serf, Warrior, or Hero, or a Tower controlled by a player.
Destroyed Siege Engine: The Siege Engine's card is placed back in the Supply and may be built again by any player. Siege Engines can be destroyed by:
- Being destroyed in a Battle.
- Being sacrificed to pay for a Tactic Card.
- If ever a situation causes a Siege Engine to be "alone" in a Region without a Serf, Warrior, Heroes, or Tower present, it is immediately destroyed.
Abilities and Battles: Abilities are listed on their cards. One ability of Catapults and Ballistae is "Ranged Battle". They are not required to be in the Region of the Battle, but they may be destroyed based on the results of the Battle. Siege Engines alone may not start a Battle.
