  • Sand Timer

Objective

Earn the most chips by figuring out the words in your headband.

Setup

  1. Each player puts on a headband with the logo facing forward.
  2. Separate and shuffle the 4 category card decks. Place the decks face down on the table.
  3. Place the chips and sand timer in the center of the table.
  4. Choose a player to go first. This player will be the first Guesser. The other players will be Clue Givers.
  5. Choose a category to play. Once everyone has been the Guesser for this category, you'll choose a different category for the next round.

How to Play

  1. If you are the first Guesser, draw SIX cards from the chosen category deck. Place all six cards into your headband word-side out, WITHOUT LOOKING at the words.
  2. Before beginning your turn, decide whether you want to play NORMAL PLAY or CHALLENGE PLAY.
    • Normal Play = Earn 1 chip for each correct answer.
    • Challenge Play = Earn 2 chips for each correct answer.
  3. When you're ready to play, turn over the sand timer. The Clue Givers all start giving clues simultaneously about the first word on the card, based on the category:

Categories

Act It Out

It's time to mime!

  • Normal Play: Act out the action or item on the card. No talking, but sounds are okay!
  • Challenge Play: Try not using any sound effects.

Superstars

The biggest pop culture celebrities!

  • Normal Play: Describe the stars without saying any part of their name, and without rhyming.
  • Challenge Play: Don't use any other celebrity names in your clues.

Hey Mr. DJ

Memorable songs and the artists who sing them!

  • Normal Play: Hum or whistle the song as your clue. No singing or talking allowed!
  • Challenge Play: The Guesser must guess the song AND artist.

Notes

  • The sheet prints rules for only three categories (Act It Out, Superstars, Hey Mr. DJ). The box contains four category card decks, but the fourth category's rules are not printed on this sheet and are not transcribed here.
  • The sheet does not describe scoring beyond the chips-per-correct-answer rule above, round length, or when the game ends.
