Components

• 210 Question Cards (70 of Each Type: Best of Three, This or That, and Fill in the Blank)
• 12 Two-Sided Team Indicators
• 12 Dry-Erase Boards and Pens

Setup

1. Choose 5 cards of each style (Best of Three, This or That, and Fill in the Blank), shuffle them together, and place them in a facedown stack in the center of the table.
2. Give everyone a board, a pen, and a team indicator placed ORANGE TEAM side up.
3. Tell everybody how to play.

How to Play

1. Reveal and read the top question in the stack.
2. Every player will secretly write their response on their board. Once everyone has answered, all players reveal their response and the winning answer is determined. (See "Determining the Winning Answer" below.)
3. Every player who wrote the winning answer becomes a member of the GREEN TEAM, flipping their team indicators to the GREEN TEAM side and taking one point.
4. Any player who wrote the winning answer who was already a member of the GREEN TEAM takes two points. So the longer you stay on the GREEN TEAM, the more points you'll get.
5. Any player on either team who didn't write the winning answer joins (or stays on) the ORANGE TEAM and gets no points.
6. After scoring the 15th question, the player with the most points is the WINNER.

Remember:

• Join the Green Team – 1 point
• Stay on the Green Team – 2 points
• Be on the Orange Team – No points

Determining the Winning Answer

If one response was written by more players than any other, that response becomes the winning answer, and every player with the winning answer joins or stays on the GREEN TEAM.

If exactly half of the players wrote one answer and half the players wrote another, the GREEN TEAM wins. All current members of the GREEN TEAM stay on the GREEN TEAM—no matter which answer they wrote—and take two points. The same rule applies if there is a tie with more than one answer having the majority. Players with the tied answers who are currently on the GREEN TEAM stay on the GREEN TEAM and earn two points. ORANGE TEAM tied players stay on the ORANGE TEAM and get no points.

If everybody writes a different response, there's no winning answer and nobody's on the GREEN TEAM. Everybody joins the ORANGE TEAM and gets no points.

If everybody writes the same response, everybody joins (or stays on) the GREEN TEAM and takes points (one point if they're joining and two points if they're staying on the GREEN TEAM).

The Questions

There are three styles of cards.

Best of Three – A multiple-choice question with three possible responses. Choose the one that you think people will say best fits the prompt on the card.

This or That – Two options, with no qualifications. Do you think more people will say this thing, or that thing? It's not necessarily "which is the best" or "would you rather." It's just this or that. Choose one.

Fill in the Blank – A word with a blank in front of it or after it. What one word do you think people will say fits best in that blank? Write that.

Thinking Like a Winner

So obviously, this game isn't that complex. It has like five rules, and most of those aren't even rules. Look, here's all you have to do:

Write down the answer that you think the majority of people will write.

It doesn't matter if your response is the smartest or best, or even if it's unassailably correct. It only matters what everybody else wrote and if you wrote the same thing as them.

If you want to win, you have to get on the GREEN TEAM.

To get on the GREEN TEAM, you have to think like the GREEN TEAM. To think like the GREEN TEAM, you just have to think like everybody else.
