- 200 term cards
- 7 Graffiti boards with pens
- 1 sand timer
- 56 chips (40 with value 1, 16 with value 5)
Setup
All players decide together whether to play with the easy terms (red) or the more difficult terms (blue).
Together they also decide how many terms are to be guessed. The number should be chosen so that everyone gets the same number of turns as guesser.
The oldest player may guess first. All other players receive a Graffiti board with a pen. The cards are shuffled and placed face down in the middle of the table. The chips and the sand timer are set out ready.
The Game
The guesser covers his eyes. He must not see how or what the drawers are drawing. One of the drawers takes the top card from the stack and lets his fellow drawers read the term on it. Then he places the card face down on a discard pile. The sand timer is turned over. Everyone now draws the term within the given time. When the time is up, one player collects all the Graffiti boards, shuffles them and lays them in front of the guesser. The guesser may now open his eyes again and has the following tasks:
1. He guesses the term
The guesser has at most three attempts: if he guesses the term correctly on the first try, he receives two small chips from the supply. If he succeeds only on the second or third attempt, he receives one small chip. If he does not guess the term, he unfortunately goes away empty-handed.
2. He rewards the best drawing
He may of course decide for himself by what criteria he judges a drawing.
- Is it the most original?
- Or the most accurate?
- Or the most expressive?
The best drawing receives two small chips from the supply. They are placed on the Graffiti board.
Note: The drawers must still not reveal who made which drawing.
3. He assigns the artworks to the drawers
All drawings are handed back to their supposed artists. For every correct assignment, the guesser receives one small chip from the supply. For every wrong assignment, the player whose drawing was not assigned to him but to a colleague receives one small chip from the supply.
Five small chips can be exchanged for one large chip. At the end of the game, small chips count one point and large chips count five points.
The next player clockwise also closes his eyes. A new round begins.
End of the Game
The game ends after the agreed number of cards has been played. The player with the highest score wins.
Drawing with Your Own Terms
There are no limits to the players' imagination in GRAFFITI. Those who wish can get creative themselves, invent their own terms and have them drawn.
