Objective

Be the player with the most completed sets of embarrassing situation cards by the end of the game.

Gameplay

The game plays just like Go Fish. (These are our rules, modify them for your house.)

Setup

Shuffle the deck.

Deal 5 cards to each player (or 4 if there are 5+ players).

Place the rest face-down in the center as the draw pile.

Make them look like a big pond. It's not a certified game unless your pile looks like this:

Turn Order

Play goes clockwise. The most chronically cringe person goes first.

Fish for Shameful Secrets

On a player's turn, they pick any card from their hand and ask any other player of their choice if they have that same type of card.

Example: If you're holding a lazy eye, you can ask: "Hey, do you have a lazy eye?"

If the Other Player Has It

They must hand over ALL matching cards, and begrudgingly say, "Yes" as if deep in their hearts they know it to be true.

The asking player's turn continues. They may ask again for any card, from any player, but they can only request a card type they currently hold in their hand.

If the Other Player Doesn't

They reply: "Go f*** yourself!"

The asking player then draws one card from the pile.

  • If the drawn card matches what they just asked, they show it to the group and may continue their turn.
  • If not, their turn ends.

Completing a Set

When a player collects 4 cards of the same embarrassing situation, they place them face-up in front of them to score a set. These cards are no longer in the player's hand and are out of play.

You have successfully acquired a set, and must say "Sweet I officially have _________"

Four cards make a set.

Some people will argue a set is two cards. Great. Cool. Ya that's SOME "set" you got there. I remember when my mom gave me a set of silverware and it only came with two forks.

What happens when there's no more cards left to draw? Isn't it obvious? Go Fuck Yourself! Play continues until all matches have been collected, but no more cards for you loser! Get fucked lmao.

Winning the Game

The game ends when all sets are completed.

Count your completed sets: each set is worth 1 point. The player with the most points wins!

Tiebreaker: Bonus points awarded to the players who can prove they have the most "this is actually true about me in real life" sets wins the game. Ie if someone chubs up on the spot and have the "I have a boner" set that counts as a bonus point.
