Game Idea

The lucky pirates roll the die and move from card to card. When a pirate reaches one of the two treasure islands he gets a treasure. If two or more pirates land on a card at the same time, a duel must be fought and only the winner gets the treasure. Aim of the game is to be the first to collect five pieces of treasure.

Preparation of the Game

Place all the treasure as provisions in the center of the table. Arrange the seven cards (4 x seaside, 2 treasure islands, one pirate ship) around the treasures in a circle. Each player takes a pirate and places him on the pirate ship. Get the die and both wooden disks ready.

How to Play

Play in a clockwise direction. Whoever has been especially lucky today, may start. If you can not agree, the youngest player starts and rolls the die.

Move your pirate the number of dots shown on the die. Each card counts as a square. On which cards is your pirate now standing?

  • One of the four seaside cards? All is calm! Nothing happens when on you are on this card.
  • One of the two treasure islands? Pirates' luck! You've found treasure on this island. Take a piece of treasure from the provisions and place it in front of you.
  • At the pirate ship? Pirates' bad luck! The cheeky pirates pinch a treasure from you. Return one of your collected treasures back to the provisions. If you don't have any yet, obviously you can't return anything.

The Pirates' Duel

There will be a duel when your pirate reaches a card where there are already other pirates. Those players now throw the two wooden disks. If both disks show a ship, the player takes a piece of treasure from the provisions. A duel lasts as long as it takes for a player to make this lucky throw.

The player who has just rolled the die starts, takes both disks into his fist and lets them drop onto the table. How many ships appear on the disks?

  • One ship or none? Bad luck, sorry! It's the turn of the next player, in a clock-wise direction, whose pirate also stands on the card. He takes both disks and lets them drop on the table.
  • Two ships? Lucky pirate! This player wins the duel and takes a piece of treasure from the provisions as a reward. Place it in front of you.

Watch out: A duel can be over after the first throw or it may last several rounds!

Then it's the turn of the next player to roll the die and move his pirate.

End of the Game

The game ends as soon as a player has collected five treasures thus winning the game.
