- 1 action tile "new starting player"
- 8 bonus point tiles
- 4 hometown tiles
- 6 city tiles
Setup
- The new starting player action tile replaces the corresponding action tile from the standard game.
- The new bonus point tiles are placed (sorted according to their kind) in four stacks next to the (old) bonus point tiles. In two player games only one tile of each kind is used.
- A player takes all 10 city tokens (cities and hometowns) into his hands and lets them drop onto the table so that they are facing up with a random side.
- Beginning with the starting player and then progressing in clockwise order, the players place one of these tiles on one of the city squares of the game board until each of them has chosen 2 tiles. The following rules apply:
- City tiles must be placed on a suitable city site of the game board, i.e. a new temple city to a temple city, etc.
- The new hometown tiles replace the actions of the hometowns on the game board and are placed on the action spaces to the left. You may place a hometown on only one of the two action spaces in each row of hometowns; the other space will then be the action specified on the game board.
- As soon as there is only one city tile or one hometown tile left, the corresponding tile is returned to the box.
New Starting Player
The new starting player action tile (marked with the "S" symbol).
- The player immediately gains 1 victory point. In the following decline phase after the heyday phase, the player becomes the new starting player.
Bonus Point Tiles
If a player meets the requirements of one of the bonus point tiles, he takes it and places it face down in front of him. In each decline phase, the player receives 1 victory point for each of these tokens. If the second tile of a particular kind has been taken, the other players will not receive anything if they meet the conditions later.
- The player has built at least one city from each of the three kinds of cities. Both, cities and hometowns, count.
- The player has trained at least one person of each of the six groups of persons.
- The player has played civilization cards displaying all four symbols.
- The player has built at least two cities and has played at least two civilization cards and trained at least 8 people.
Hometowns
The player may use the new actions of hometowns in the heyday phase after building the hometown beginning on the next player turn, but only on their own turn and only once each turn!
- The player takes 2 coins for each of the depicted persons.
- If the player pays 5 coins and takes 1 hourglass, he removes a wooden cube from his time scale.
- If the player pays 8 coins and takes 2 hourglasses, the player may build any city. If he chooses a city, he activates all cities in the same region and receives their rewards; if he chooses a hometown, he may activate the cities of a region of his choice.
- If the player pays 5 coins and takes 2 hourglasses, the player may play a civilization card from his hand.
- If the player takes 1 hourglass, he may buy up to 5 victory points for 2 coins per point.
- If the player takes 2 hourglasses, he activates all of his cities and receives their rewards.
Cities
If the player activates his cities, he can always choose whether he wants to receive the rewards of the new cities or not.
- The player may surrender 1 person from his population chart in order to receive 10 coins.
- The player gets 3 coins and 1 victory point.
- The player may pay 3 coins to either receive 2 victory points or place a wooden cube in the temple and oracle area (one per area).
- The player may take 1 hourglass in order to place two wooden cubes in the temple and oracle areas (two per area).
- The player may surrender 1 victory point in order to train a person of his choice and mark it on his population chart.
