Before the Game
- Push out all the pre-punched holes in the game board.
- Detach all the plastic parts from their mounts. Do NOT separate the two parts of the pivot pin (see illustration below).
- Assemble the parts as shown.
Assembly notes:
- Pin pendulum: Adjust the thread length so that the weight hangs just above the game board, before the cap is placed on the pivot pin.
- Billiard table: Carefully peel the film from the back of the mat and align the mat so that all the holes in the game board stay open.
- Spinner and ring toss stand: assemble as shown in the illustrations.
Preparing the board: Insert the putting green, the tee, the billiard rail and the ring toss stand, each with its anchor pins, into the designated places on the game board. Place the barrier at one end of the Bowling/Shuffleboard lane.
- Lay all other game materials within reach beside the game board.
Playing the Game
1. Standings
Printed heading: "Standes Spiels".
Each player chooses a coloured game piece and places it on the start space (marked with an arrow). The youngest player in the group begins. He rolls the dice and moves his piece forward as many spaces as he has rolled.
All players complete the individual games. Each game awards points (see below). Players move their game pieces forward on the board according to the points they have won.
2. How Play Continues
The turn then passes to the player on the left. In turn, each player plays the game shown on the space where he or she is standing.
Each individual game is played in turn by all of the other players, and the game pieces are advanced according to the points won.
3. Scoring
The scoring for each individual game is given in its rules below.
If two or more players tie for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, they all receive the same number of points.
The Rules for the Individual Games
1. Pin Throwing (Wurfkegeln)
Whoever is on turn sets up the seven pins and swings the pendulum once. The player who knocks down the most pins receives 3 points, the player with the second-best result 2 points, and the player with the third-best throw 1 point.
2. Bowling
Whoever has landed on this space sets up six pins on the spaces at the far end of the bowling lane and fastens the barrier behind them. He places a ball on the line with the 3 points in front of him and flicks it with his finger into the pins. He sets the knocked-down pins aside and flicks a second time. Then the other players have two turns each. The player who knocks down the most pins receives 3 points, the second-best 2 points, and the third-best 1 point.
3. Pool Billiards (Pool-Billard)
Whoever lands on this space places the three coloured balls on the three spots at the far end of the billiard table and the white ball on the middle spot in front of him. With the cue he has three shots to pocket the three coloured balls, using the white ball, wherever they may be. A pocketed ball is taken out of the hole and placed beside the game board.
On the second and third attempt the player must shoot the white ball from the place where it stopped. If he pockets the white ball, he receives no points at all for this game and drops out of this round.
Game pieces are moved forward as many spaces as the number of balls the player has pocketed.
4. Shuffleboard (Shuffeln)
Whoever is on turn places a chip on the middle spot at the nearer end of the bowling lane, and fixes the barrier into the lane at the other end. He then flicks the chip with his finger in the direction of the barrier. He repeats this in turn with the other three chips.
Then the scoring: the numbers that the player can read from his side are added up, each one counted according to the number of chips lying on its space. If a chip lies on the line between two spaces, the lower value counts. A chip flicked beside the lane or beyond its end is not scored. The highest score receives 3 points, the next 2 points, and the third-highest 1 point.
5. Ring Toss (Ringwerfen)
Whoever lands on this game throws the four rings one after another from outside the game board. He then moves his game piece forward as many spaces as the number of rings he has thrown over the post.
6. Golf
Whoever chooses this game places the white ball on the tee and tries to hit it with the club into the hole in the green. Points are only given for a direct hole-in. Each player has three attempts, and then moves his game piece forward as many spaces as the number of balls he has holed.
7. Strict Sequence (Strikte Folge)
Each player is dealt 5 cards, number side down, so that he can see them but the other players cannot. The rest of the cards are placed, likewise number side down, in a stack beside the game board.
The aim is to be the first player to get rid of all of his cards. The player to the left of the dealer starts. The first card he must play is a 1. Play then goes to the left, and each next player must play the next number of the same colour. Only one card may be played per turn. A player who cannot lay a following card on a pile must draw a card from the face-down stack, and that ends his turn.
The first player to play all of his cards wins and receives 3 points. The other players count the cards still in their hands. The player with the fewest cards receives 2 points, and the player with the second-fewest 1 point.
8. Higher or Lower? (Höher oder Niedriger?)
Shuffle the cards well and place the stack, number side down, on the table. Whoever is on turn turns over the top card and then says whether the next card will be "Higher" or "Lower". He turns the next card over. If he guessed correctly, he continues, calling "Higher" or "Lower" again, until he guesses wrong or there are no more cards to turn over. If the next number is the same, he may keep playing.
He then shuffles the stack again and passes the cards to the player on his left.
The player who has turned over the most cards receives 3 points, the player with the second-most 2 points, and the player with the third-highest number 1 point.
9. Who Dares, Wins (Wer wagt, gewinnt)
Whoever chooses this game shuffles the cards well and takes 1, 2 or 3 cards (depending on how many points he wants to play for; this is explained below). He then turns the arrow on the spinner and says the number at which the arrow stops.
If one of the numbers on his cards matches the number spun, the game is scored as follows: a player who has taken 3 cards receives only 1 point; a player who has taken 2 cards receives 2 points; and a player who has risked it with 1 card is rewarded with 3 points.
He then shuffles the cards again and passes them to the player on his left. Each player moves his game piece forward along the track according to the points won.
10. Word Chain (Wortkette)
Whoever calls this game turns the arrow on the spinner to determine a word category. He then draws any letter card from the stack and names a word in this category that begins with the drawn letter. He also states the letter that this word ends with.
Going clockwise, each other player in turn says a word in this category that begins with the last letter of the previous player's word, and states the last letter of his own word for the next player. For example, in the category Animals: "Cat – E", "Donkey – L", "Llama – A", and so on.
Whoever cannot find another word, or whom the other players unanimously feel has been searching for a word for too long, drops out of the round. The remaining players resume the game with the interrupted word.
The last player remaining receives 3 points, the second-to-last 2 points, and the third-to-last 1 point.
If all players are still in the game and one player gives a word that none of the others can continue, he receives 3 points and all the other players receive nothing.
11. Word Game (Wortspiel)
Whoever lands on this space shuffles the cards and places them, letter side down, on the table. He turns the hourglass over and turns up the two top cards.
All other players think of a word in which the two letters of the turned-up cards (in any order) appear. Whoever first calls out a valid word may take the two cards. He then turns the next two cards over, and the game continues in this way until the hourglass has run out.
Whoever has the most cards at that point receives 3 points, the player with the second-most 2 points, and the player with the third-most 1 point.
If there is no agreement about who called out their word first, these two cards are placed back under the stack and two other cards are drawn.
12. Eyes Open (Augen Auf)
Whoever calls this game shuffles the cards and places the stack on the table, letter side up. The players call out in turn an object they can see in their surroundings that begins with the letter shown. Whoever can no longer find an object beginning with this letter drops out of the round. An object may not be named twice.
The last player remaining receives 3 points, the second-to-last 2 points, and the third-to-last 1 point.
13. Wins (Gewinnt)
The players throw the die one after another, as often as they like, with the aim of rolling a 13, or at least getting as close to 13 as possible. Each player may stop as long as he is still below 13. Whoever throws more than 13 is out and receives no points in this round.
Whoever has reached 13 or is nearest to it receives 3 points, the second-best 2 points, and the third-best 1 point.
14. Evil 1 (Böse 1)
The players take turns throwing both dice simultaneously and adding up the pips. They keep throwing both dice and adding again. Each player may stop whenever he likes. However, whoever throws a 1 at any point loses all the points from his previous throws and receives no points for this game.
When everyone has finished their turn, the scoring is: the player with the highest total of pips receives 3 points, the second-best 2 points, and the third 1 point.
15. Chance
Whoever lands on this space may call out the game of his choice for the next round.
Who Wins?
The first player to reach the chequered finish space is the winner of the game. If two or more players are so close to the finish that, with the points from the last round, they cross the finish line, the player who won the last individual game is declared the overall winner.
