Ruhrgebiet Promo Card
This is a double-sided Company card. It shows the Zollverein coal mine in the Ruhr area of Germany, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The basic side is used from the start. The upgraded side is used once the card has been upgraded (flipped over).
Basic side
Compensation effect (top of card): Gain 1 Money, or discard 2 Money to gain 1 upgrade token. The player may apply the compensation effect in any combination.
Basic effect (middle of card): Whenever you gain upgrade token(s), gain the same amount of coal.
Bottom line (bottom of card): Lightning bolt, 5, Money coin. The lightning bolt marks a delivery effect: gain 5 Money.
Upgraded side
There is no compensation effect on the upgraded side.
Basic effect: Whenever you gain upgrade token(s), gain the same amount of coal.
Bottom line (bottom of card): Lightning bolt, 5, Money coin. The lightning bolt marks a delivery effect: gain 5 Money.
Notes
- Icons written as words. Money is the round eagle coin. Upgrade token is the red gear with a wrench. Coal is the coal cube. The lightning bolt before an effect marks a delivery.
- Printed text, English translation. The German day side reads: "Whenever you receive an upgrade token, receive just as much coal." The Russian sides read: "Whenever you receive an upgrade token, receive coal." Both are rendered here as the English effect above.
- Discrepancy: placement of the 5-Money effect. Mosigra's Russian description calls the 5-Money effect the "advanced effect (when the card is upgraded)". The English BGG item description calls it an additional effect. The scans show the lightning bolt, the number 5 and a Money coin printed at the bottom of both the German day side and the Russian night side, and also on the Russian day side. This file transcribes the scans as printed and shows the 5-Money line on both faces. It does not decide whether the line is available on the basic side.
- Gap: icon transparency is not clear in the scans. The base rules say transparent symbols mark additional effects that are unavailable while the card is basic side up. The scans do not make it clear whether the bottom 5-Money line is fully coloured on the day side. The line is transcribed as printed, and this file does not add a rule for it.
- Compensation icons. The compensation icons (1 Money, and 2 Money to 1 upgrade token) appear only on the basic side. The upgraded side has no compensation icons.
