Orakel

  • Through the Oracle, a player gets a look at the face-down draw deck of technology cards.
  • The Oracle card is not shuffled into the draw deck. It is placed face up next to the technology market.
  • When the player order is determined at the start of the second round, the last (= worst) player in the order receives the Oracle, without having to pay anything for it. From then on, this card is always in play and changes owner according to the following rules.
  • The player who owns the Oracle is called the Sage (Weiser).
  • At any time, the Sage may look at the top card of the draw deck of technology cards. The Sage thus always knows one technology more than the other players and can use this information for himself when auctioning technologies.
  • The Sage may not give his fellow players any direct information about the card only he knows (neither its type, nor its size, nor its knowledge value). The other players can only draw conclusions from the Sage's bidding behavior about which technology will be revealed next and placed in the market.
  • As soon as the Sage buys a technology, he must hand the Oracle to the player directly in front of him in the player order (= the better player). If the Sage is currently first (= best) in the order, he hands the Oracle to the last-placed player. The new Sage may immediately look at the top technology card of the draw deck.
  • Example: The Sage is currently fourth in the order. After buying a technology, he passes the Oracle to the third player in the order.

Translation note: the printed text has no separate section headings; its bullet points are transcribed in their printed order under the title "Orakel". "Weiser" is rendered as "Sage".
