  • Spatula Cards x8
  • Food Cards (meats, vegetables, rice & noodles) x58
  • Spice Tiles x15
  • Gold Spatula Tokens x6

Game Setup

  1. Scatter all the Food Cards and Spice Tiles in the center of the table (either side can be face-up).
  2. Each player chooses one Spatula Card, and returns the rest back to the box.
  3. Shuffle all the Order Plates face-down. Randomly draw one card and use its back as the Stir-Fry Mode (the gameplay rules for the round). After all players look through it, set it aside—it won't be used as an order for this game.
  4. Divide the remaining Order Plates into two equal piles, placing them face-down on opposite ends of the table. Randomly pick a starting player, then take turns (in clockwise order) take one Order Plate from either pile.
  5. Each player holds a Spatula Card in one hand and an Order Plate in the other. Together, use your Spatula Cards to stir and flip the Food Cards in the center of the table, and shout "Wok on Fire!" and begin the game!

How to Play

The game is played in real-time, following the Stir-Fry Mode rules for the round.

During the game, players use your Spatula Cards to stir and collect Food Cards from the center of the table and place them on your Order Plate (with the order side facing up).

  • Food Cards on the Order Plate must be placed with the image face-up, and the amount and type of the Food cards must exactly match the order. Once complete, the player shouts, "Order's up!" and sets the whole order (Order Plate with the food card) on the table in front of them.
  • After completing an order, draw a new Order Plate from either pile and continue with the next order!
  • Scoring happens after the round ends.

*You must use the Spatula Card to pick up any Food Cards and place them on your plate—no hands allowed!

*If you can't find enough Food Cards to complete an order, you can return the Food Cards from your current order to the center of the table and discard the Order Plate to draw a new one.

Order Plates

Order Plates are divided into three types: meat, vegetable, and Rice & Noodles.

Each of them displays four kinds of information: dish name, required ingredients, disliked ingredients, and flavor value.

  • Required Ingredients: The circular area shows all the food cards needed to complete the dish. There are two types of icons:
    • Specific: You need exactly the same Food Card.
    • Any: You can use any Food Card from the same category (Food from the same category usually shares the same shape and background color.).
  • Disliked Ingredients: If you include certain Food Card shown on Disliked ingredients, you lose points when scoring.
  • Flavor Value: The points you earn for completing this dish.

*The back of the Order Plate shows the Stir-Fry Mode for the round.

End of a Round

When someone completes the required number of orders to finish the round, immediately, they loudly countdown, "3... 2... 1... Time's up!" to signal the end of the round. Any ingredients still on the spatula must be discarded.

  • 2 players: 6 completed orders
  • 3 players: 5 completed orders
  • 4 players: 4 completed orders

Scoring

Before scoring, check if the Food Cards on the completed orders match the requirements. Fully correct orders earn full points (coins = points). If you include a disliked ingredient, subtract 1 point each. If the wrong ingredients are included, or wrong amounts are used, you get NO points for this order.

The player with the highest score receives a Gold Spatula Token. If there's a tie, the player with more completed orders wins. If still tied, both players get a Gold Spatula Token.

The game continues for multiple rounds, and the first player to earn two Gold Spatulas wins and becomes the Stir-Fry Master! If two players win at the same time, they share the victory!

Beginner's Mode

For the first time playing, we recommended using these two Stir-Fry Modes: Mixed Fry or Casual Fry, to get used to the game. If playing with younger children, we recommend the Teppanyaki Fry Mode, allowing two spatulas (one for each hand) to be used per player , which is easier when completing orders.

Rules in Mustache Master's Restaurant

  • A good chef will let younger or slower players have a chance.
  • A good chef does not steal ingredients from others' plates.
  • A good chef doesn't focus on winning but ensures everyone has fun!

The Stir-Fry Mode

The back of the Order Plate shows the Stir-Fry Mode for the round, and hints about the type and number of ingredients needed for this order.

The Stir-Fry Mode card shows the Stir-Fry rule and the Ingredients hints.
