Card Layout

The printed card shows two cards, one above the other:

  • Dracula (top half): cost 2 (top-left box). Bat icon (black square) and hoofed-animal icon (orange boot) on the left edge. Tree-colour emblem in the top-right corner: orange (oak leaf).
  • Paeonia peregrina (bottom half): cost 0 (top-left box). Plant icon (green fern) on the left edge. Tree-colour emblem in the top-right corner: green (leaf).

Dracula

Top half of the card. Cost 2.

Effect: Place any number of Bats on this tree.

The green tree icon after the words "on this" shows that the Bats are placed at the tree that Dracula is in, as in the base game's Bat effects. The printed effect does not spell out "from your hand" or "at no cost"; see the Card Notes.

Points: Scores 2 acorns for each Cloven-hoofed animal (boot icon) and 2 acorns for each Pawed animal (paw icon). The printed scoring line is "2 acorns × (boot icon), (paw icon)": 2 points per boot and 2 points per paw, counted in your forest.

Paeonia peregrina

Bottom half of the card. Cost 0.

Points: Scores 10 acorns (points) if at least one Woodpecker is in your forest. The printed scoring line is "10 acorns if at least one Woodpecker."

The Paeonia peregrina has no effect and no bonus. It scores nothing if your forest contains no Woodpecker.

Card Notes

  • Dracula's effect is printed as the words "any number of Bats on this" and a tree icon, with no words for the source of the Bats. The "from your hand, at no cost" reading in the Effect line is the transcriber's, drawn from the identical base-game wording for Bats (the Gnat effect in the Forest Shuffle appendix: "Place any number of bats from your hand into your forest at no cost"). The card itself does not print it.
  • Dracula's points are printed with a comma between the boot and paw icons. They are read here as two separate counts, each at 2 points, as the scoring line is printed; the card does not spell out the joining word.
  • "Woodpecker" is printed without a species name. The card does not name a species. The reading that any Woodpecker card counts, including the base game's Great Spotted Woodpecker, is the transcriber's inference from the word as printed.
  • The small figure printed at the lower right of each name bar, the illustrator credits along the right edge, and the printed "P023" code carry no rules and are not transcribed.
