Card Layout

The printed card shows two cards, one above the other:

  • Brimstone (top half): cost 0 (top-left box). Habitat-style emblem in the top-right corner: a grey circle with a brown cone-shaped symbol.
  • Marsh Cinquefoil (bottom half): cost 1 (top-left box). Habitat-style emblem in the top-right corner: a blue circle with a white leaf-shaped symbol.

Each half carries its own type icons on the left, below the cost box.

Brimstone

Top half of the card. Cost 0.

Type icons: an insect symbol (green square) and a Butterfly symbol (purple square).

Points: the scoring line reads "different butterflies", with a row of butterfly counts from 1 to 8 above a row of acorn (point) values:

Different butterflies12345678
Acorns (points)0361220355580

Count the different butterflies in your forest, then score the acorn value for that number.

Marsh Cinquefoil

Bottom half of the card. Cost 1.

Type icons: a grey-white striped terrain symbol (left, middle) and a Plant symbol (green square, a fern- or leaf-shaped plant).

Points: the scoring line shows a Tree symbol above three tree-count brackets, with an acorn (point) value under each:

Trees in your forest0-56-1011+
Acorns (points)1573

Count the trees in your forest, then score the acorn value for that bracket.

Card Notes

  • The card number "P028" in the top-right corner and the small number at the right of each name bar are printed reference marks; they have no rules effect and are not transcribed.
  • The illustrator credits printed on each half are attribution and are not transcribed.
  • The card prints no words at all. The names used above for the icons ("butterfly", "plant", "tree", "insect", "habitat") are descriptions of the symbols, not printed text. The numbers in the top-left boxes (0 and 1) are transcribed as shown; the card does not say what they represent.
  • The card has no printed effect or bonus text. Nothing beyond the scoring lines above is added here.
  • Not settled by the printed card: the card does not say whether the Marsh Cinquefoil or the Brimstone counts itself in its own scoring. No ruling is added here.
