Card Layout

The printed card shows two cards, one above the other:

  • Blue Jay (top half): cost 1 (top-left box). Bird type icon (blue square, bottom-left). Tree-colour emblem in the top-right corner: orange (oak leaf).
  • Beaver (bottom half): cost 2 (top-left box). Pawed animal type icon (orange paw print, bottom-left). Tree-colour emblem in the top-right corner: blue (pine cone).

Blue Jay

Top half of the card. Cost 1.

Bonus (orange binoculars arrow): If you pay for the Blue Jay with cards that match its tree colour (the orange oak-leaf symbol), you may play a tree card from your hand into your forest at no cost, without using that card's effect and bonus. The arrow shows a stack of cards with a tree card on top, followed by a curved arrow.

The printed bonus icon does not spell out "from your hand" or "at no cost". This wording follows the base game's identical bonus icon wording for other card types (see the Forest Shuffle appendix, "Bonus: Place a Bird card from your hand into your forest at no cost, without using the effect and bonus of that card."), and matches the BGG description for this promo ("Matching color paid: play a tree from hand.").

Points: Scores 3 points (acorns). The printed scoring line is a flat 3 acorns with no multiplier.

Beaver

Bottom half of the card. Cost 2.

Effect: Put all trees from the clearing in your cave.

The printed effect reads "put all trees from the clearing in your cave." The Beaver has no binoculars arrow, so it has no bonus.

Points: Scores 1 point (acorn) per card in your cave. The printed scoring line is 1 acorn multiplied by the words "per card in your cave."

Card Notes

  • The Blue Jay's bonus is printed as an icon only, with no words on the card. The "play a tree card from your hand, at no cost" reading above is the transcriber's, drawn from the base game's bonus icon convention and the BGG description. The card itself does not print it.
  • The small print on the card (the illustration credit down the right edge, and the printed "P029" code) carries no rules and is not transcribed.
