Setup
Assemble the El Razul figure and place it on any estate. Place the windmill blade with El Razul on one of the windmill blade spaces.
Then shuffle all the other windmill blades and place them on the other windmill blade spaces. Blades that are not placed are removed from the game.
Shuffle the 2 Drought fruit tokens together with the other fruit tokens and place them on the game board as described in the base rules. Return the remaining fruit tokens to the box.
Each player takes the action tokens of their color, including the additional Marionette action token. The other setup rules remain unchanged from the base game.
New Rules
Unless stated otherwise, the base game rules apply to this expansion.
Windmill Blade: Fruit of Your Choice
If you move your game piece onto this windmill blade, the active player may choose which fruit they want to take.
- Windmill blade with El Razul: If you move your game piece onto the windmill blade (illustrated top right), the active player must move the El Razul figure to a different region. The active player receives 2 fruit.
- Of your choice: This does not depend on the number of farmers already working at the windmill.
El Razul
If a player wants to deliver fruit to a region with the El Razul figure, the fruit shown on the fruit tokens is no longer mandatory. The player may choose which fruit they deliver to that region, in the same quantity. The quantity of fruit and the ratio remain in effect.
Example: If a fruit token shows 3 oranges and 2 figs, the player may deliver 3 almonds and 2 lemons instead, or 3 lemons and 2 oranges. The quantity of fruit and the ratio remain in effect.
Dried Fruit Card
If a player wants to deliver fruit to a region where a dried-fruit token is located, they spend a donkey cart but not fruit. For this they receive a fruit token that is worth 2 points at the end of the game.
These cards cannot be used to obtain bonus tokens.
The player then takes 2 fruit of each type and places them in the box; they are no longer available until the end of the game. If this is impossible because there are no longer enough fruit of that type in the supply, the rule on page 5 of the base rules applies (return of missing fruit to the supply, by all players).
Marionette Action Token
A player using this token may move another player's figure along the windmill blades, and thereby receives all the bonuses from the movement. They take fruit and donkey carts according to the standard rules.
Translator's notes: The sheet's headings "Windmill Blade" and "Fruit of Your Choice" are printed as separate labels; the bullet "of your choice" is printed without its own heading and is kept under the windmill blade section. The dried-fruit heading says "card" while the body refers to a "token"; both are kept as printed. The base rulebook calls these items "food"; this sheet says "fruit" and that term is kept here.
