Objective of the Game
As in real soccer, the team that scores the most goals wins.
You play as a soccer coach, directing your players to score goals by moving one of your own players into the opponent's goal or by preventing the other team from moving.
Game Setup
Place your goalkeeper in the goal. Position your team in the two rows in front. Each coach can position their players as they wish. The three middle rows of the game board remain empty.
Gameplay
The younger coach begins. Roll the die first and then move one of your own figures one space, either straight forward or diagonally. Then it's the other coach's turn. The die indicates which player you may move: If you roll a 1, you must move the goalkeeper. Otherwise, you may choose which of the two players with the rolled number you wish to move. If you cannot move a player with that number, you must move any other player from your team.
Note: Players may only be moved forward toward the opponent's goal. There are two options: either one space straight forward or one space diagonally forward. Moving sideways or backward is not permitted.
Players may only move to empty spaces. Occupied spaces, whether occupied by your own or an opposing player, may not be entered.
Goal!
A goal can be scored in two ways: Either a coach manages to move one of their own players into the opponent's goal, or the opposing team can no longer move a player. In both cases, a goal is marked on their own goal line.
Afterward, the players are returned to their starting positions. The coach who just conceded a goal takes the next turn.
End of Game
The first team to score three goals wins the game.
Short Game Variant
Of course, you can also play a quick game. The team that scores a goal first wins.
