Caltrops
The card's art shows caltrops (spiked iron traps) scattered on the ground in front of a pair of boots. Its printed content is two icon groups in the bottom panel.
Left icon group: [1] [movement arrow], with a red [X] crossed over the arrow.
Right icon group: [battle die showing a face with three hit symbols], followed by [minus sign] [one hit symbol].
Reading the icons
- Battle die hit symbols: The base rulebook states that battle dice faces carry one, two or three hit symbols, and that each symbol on a face represents one hit (Fief: France 1429 Rulebook, Battles). The die icon on the card therefore shows a face with three hits.
- [minus sign] [one hit symbol]: The card prints a minus sign before a single hit symbol. Read with the base rulebook's definition of a hit symbol, this is a reduction of one hit.
- [1] [movement arrow] with red [X]: The card prints no words describing this icon, and the base rulebook's text, as read for this transcription, does not define a crossed-out movement icon. Its effect is therefore not written out here.
