Rules of Play

Make a stack of Point cards equal to twice the number of players. Place it within easy reach of all. Leave the Question cards in the pack; it is an integral part of the game.

Playing in successive rounds, each player takes a turn being The Host. The Host takes the pack, pulls the first Question card up midway so as to not see the answer, and reads the Question aloud.

The other players then, in turn, take the pack and read in silence the answer revealed by sliding the card up. They then either:

  • give the real answer, in their own words but mentioning ALL the red keywords
  • or make up a bogus answer, using NONE of the red keywords

Note: The real answer can only be given ONCE! If someone picked it before you, you must come up with a fake one instead. Conversely, if you're last to answer and no one has given the real answer yet, you must give it. This way the Host will always know the correct answer is one of those he heard.

The Host then announces who he thinks gave him the correct answer.

  • This person receives 1 Point card from the stack
  • If she tricked the Host (i.e. her answer was bogus), she also receives that Question card. Otherwise, the Host collects it.

Once the Question card is awarded, a new round starts with the next Host and question.

The game ends when there are no Point cards left in the stack. The player with the most Point and/or Question cards wins the game.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when someone accidentally breaks the rules (for instance by repeating someone else's already given answer, or not including/excluding red words properly)? In case of a mistake the round is cancelled. No Point card is given but the Host keeps the Question card (i.e. scores 1 point) and starts a new round using a new Question card.

What happens when a player is stumped when his turn comes up, for instance by being unable to come up with a fictitious answer when the real one has already been given? The player can simply say "Pass" to remove himself from this round.

Can we play it with more than 7? Yes, of course! Simply combine the Point cards from different packs.

Demo Card

  • Read the Question written on this colored background...
  • If you are not the Host this round, slide the card up to discover the real answer.
    • If you choose the real answer, you must use the words in red.
    • If you make up your own fake answer, it cannot contain any of the words in red.
  • This section will usually contain a fun fact. Feel free to use it to embellish your answer, true or false.

Warning Card

  • You are the Host: Make sure only the Question is visible.
  • You are a Player: Slide the card up to discover the real answer.
