Basic Rules (2 Players)

  1. Shuffle all tiles face down and form several draw piles. Determine the starting player by any suitable method.
  2. Each player draws 3 tiles and keeps them face up as their hand.
  3. The starting player draws 1 tile, then chooses 1 of the 4 tiles in their hand to place in the center as the starting tile.
  4. The opponent also draws 1 tile and places 1 tile from their 4 tiles so that it connects to the tile placed by the starting player.
  5. Players continue taking turns in this way until the game end condition is met or no tiles remain in their hands. If the draw pile is empty, skip the draw step and play a tile from your hand.

How to Place Tiles

A newly placed tile must match at least one color with an adjacent tile. Only red, blue, yellow, and green, white edges do not connect. If you cannot place any tile from your hand, discard the tile drawn at the start of your turn and draw a new one. Discarded tiles are removed from the game.

Create an enclosure

Place tiles to create an area, and then place your area marker inside that area.

※ When placing a tile, Long edges cannot touch other long edges.

Split

It is possible to place a tile inside an existing enclosure and split that enclosure into two or more enclosures.

If you divide an opponent's area into two or more separate areas, move the opponent's area marker to one of those areas of your choice. Place your own area marker in all other newly created areas. You may also divide an area that you created yourself.

Fill

You may place tiles within an existing area to completely fill it. In this case, the area marker placed in that area is returned to its owner.

Game End

The first player to create 7 enclosed areas wins the game. If all tiles are placed and no one has reached 7 areas, the player with the most areas wins. If there is a tie, the player with the larger total area size (number of grid spaces) wins.

Solo Rules (1 Player)

The solo player places all 60 tiles, aiming to create as many areas as possible.

  1. Set up the game in the same way as in the basic rules.
  2. The player draws 3 tiles from the pile and keeps them face up as their hand.
  3. The player draws 1 tile from the pile, then chooses 1 of the 4 tiles in their hand and places it in the center as the starting tile.
  4. Continue repeating this procedure until all 60 tiles have been placed in the center.

※ Note: Area markers are not used in solo play.

Rules for 3 Players

  1. Set up the game in the same way as in the basic rules.
  2. Each player draws 2 tiles from the piles and keeps them face up as their hand.
  3. The starting player draws 1 tile, then chooses 1 of the 3 tiles in their hand and places it in the center as the starting tile.
  4. Play then proceeds clockwise. On their turn, each player draws 1 tile and chooses 1 of the 3 tiles in their hand to place in the center.
  5. Players continue repeating this procedure until the victory condition is met.

※ Victory Condition: The first player to create five areas wins.

Rules for 4 Players (Team Play)

  1. Set up the game in the same way as in the basic rules.
  2. Each player draws 2 tiles from the piles and keeps them face up as their hand.
  3. The starting player draws 1 tile, then chooses 1 of the 3 tiles in their hand and places it in the center as the starting tile.
  4. The opposing team chooses which player will take the turn. That player draws 1 tile and places 1 of the 3 tiles in their hand in the center.
  5. The teams continue repeating these steps until the game end condition is met.

※ Victory Condition: The first team to create seven areas wins.
