Threat and Resistance Cards

Resistance cards make the game easier, and Threat cards make it more demanding. Before you start a game, you may add these cards to the game to adjust the difficulty as you like. They stay active for the whole game.

Campaign Mode (Option)

Play every game in the campaign using the Monster die, with no starting resources (step 13 of the setup), and use the same Time marker in every game.

  • If you win a game, select and add 1 of 2 randomly drawn Threat cards, so that all later games are more demanding.
  • If you lose a game, add 1 of 2 randomly drawn Resistance cards as help for later games.
  • If you win with 4 active Threat cards, you win the campaign.
  • If you lose with 2 active Resistance cards, you lose the campaign.

Cards Shown

Resistance (I): Preparations

Resistance (I)

Each Hero starts the game with 1 Experience [yellow token], 1 Mana [green token], and 1 card in hand.

Threat (I): Undefended Flanks

Threat (I)

Start the game with 1 Village Structure fewer (or with 2 fewer in games of 3 or 4 players).

Card Backs

The backs of the Resistance cards are titled "Resistance" and the backs of the Threat cards are titled "Threats".

Translator's Notes

  • The yellow token is named Experience in this insert, and the green token is named Mana. Both are shown in brackets, as on the sibling promo rulebook.
  • The English card titles "Preparations" and "Undefended Flanks" are the transcriber's translation of "Preparativos" and "Defensas desprevenidas". The insert does not give official English titles.
  • "Village Structure" is the transcriber's translation of "Estructura de Aldea". The base rulebook refers to these pieces as town pieces.
  • "Monster die" is the transcriber's translation of "dado de Monstruo", and "Time marker" is the base rulebook's term for the "medidor de Tiempo".
  • The other Threat and Resistance cards in this promo are not shown in the photograph and are not transcribed.
