Components

  • 6 suits, ranks 1-10 in each.
  • 9 Anemone cards.
  • 3 rules cards (rules printed on front and back).

Setup

  1. Choose one suit per player. Put any remaining suits back in the box.
  2. Shuffle the deck together and deal 10 cards to each player.
  3. Set the 9 Anemone cards within reach of all players.
  4. The player who is reading these rules is the start player.

Playing a Trick

  1. The start player plays one card face up in front of themself.
  2. Every other player, in clockwise order, must play a card face up in front of themself in a suit that has not yet been played into the trick.
  3. If a player cannot play a suit that has not been played, they discard a card from their hand into their score pile instead.
  4. The highest card played wins the trick and takes all cards played into their score pile.
  5. The lowest card played takes an Anemone card. An Anemone card can be added to a card in a future trick to increase that card's value by 1 (multiple Anemone cards may be added at once).
  6. If cards tie for the highest or lowest value, the later played card breaks the tie.

End of Hand

At the end of the hand, once all cards have been played:

  1. Players score one point per card in their score pile.
  2. The 3s, 5s, and 8s of each suit are worth an extra point.
  3. The player with the lowest score at the end of the hand gains one +1 Anemone card.
  4. The player with the highest score starts the next round.

Game End

Play 4 rounds. The player with the highest total score wins! In case of a tie, the player with more Anemone cards remaining wins.
