Overview
Tasmanian Devil, title #3 in the Endangered Rescue line, is an escape-room-style game in just 18 cards for 1 or more players. As a group, you will solve a series of puzzles to unravel a mystery.
Puzzles may test your perception, wordplay, and lateral thinking. English language fluency is required.
Most groups take about an hour to solve the game.
The system is non-destructible: you can write on the cards to help solve puzzles, but this is not required (or you could use penny sleeves), so while you can't play again yourself, you could give the used game to someone else to play.
Components
- 18 numbered cards.
- Access to the companion web app, on a smartphone or computer (one device is enough for the whole group).
Setup
- Open the box.
- Turn over the first card.
- Begin your hour-long Tasmanian devil puzzle adventure!
How to Play
Work together as a group to examine the current card or cards and solve the puzzle they present. When you have solved a puzzle, enter the answer into the companion web app:
- If the answer is correct, the app confirms it and tells you which card or cards to take next.
- If the answer is incorrect, keep working the puzzle — guessing at random is discouraged.
Play continues, card by card, until the group enters the answer that solves the mystery and wins the game.
Hints
The companion web app contains a graduated hint system: if you get stuck, you can get just a small hint about the current puzzle to get moving again without giving too much away.
End of Game
Delivering the samples to the lab and solving the mystery ends the game.
