Can I perform the same action twice in one round?
The rulebook text supports this, with players agreeing on the details.

No. Each specific action (Travel, Rest, a given component action and so on) can be taken only once per round, even when a bonus action or another investigator would allow a repeat. Different actions chain freely, for example Prepare for Travel, then Travel to spend the ticket.
