Overview

The goal of the game is to score the most points. 4 rounds are played. When the rounds are over, the team that has advanced furthest on the scoring track of the board is the winner.

We recommend playing in teams of two or three players.

To Begin (Setup)

  1. Fill the three envelopes of both categories with seven cards of their color. Leave the clue side (consigna) in view.
  2. Each team places a pawn on the starting space of the score track.
  3. Prepare a two-minute timer.
  4. Place the round indicator on Round 1.
  5. Each team takes a card cover ("tapatarjetas"), a pencil and a pad on which they will write their answers. (The card cover is used to cover the card until time starts.)

Choosing Cards

At the start of each round, cards are chosen. There are 2 categories of cards:

  1. The blue ones, used in rounds 1, 3 and 4: EQUIPO (Team), ÚLTIMO ELIGE (Last Chooses), TODOS TODAS (Everyone, All).
  2. The pink ones, used in round 2: 1 VS 1.

Each card has a front with the clue (consigna) and a back with the answers. Do not peek at the clues on the backs of the cards!

  1. The first team takes the 3 envelopes of the color corresponding to the round.
  2. Reading out loud only the clues that are in view, choose one of the three cards.
  3. Remove the chosen card, leaving the envelope with a new card with its corresponding clue on top, and without looking at it place it under your card cover.
  4. Pass the 3 envelopes to the team on your right.
  5. Each team chooses a card in this same way. That is, you can always choose among three clues. Each team begins the round with a single card under its card cover.

The Game: Four Different Rounds

Round 01 – EQUIPO

In this round each team chooses a card and answers it. The team with the youngest player starts and the round continues from there.

  1. Each team chooses from the blue envelopes.
  2. Start the timer and, simultaneously, each team answers its card. (One delegate writes the answers for the whole team.)
  3. When time is up, everyone stops writing.
  4. Each team corrects the answers of the team on its right.
  5. For each correct answer, advance one space on the board.

Round 02 – 1 VS 1

In this round members of each team face each other individually and answer the same card at the same time.

  1. One player from each team chooses a card from the pink envelopes that will be played individually against a player of the team on their right.
  2. Each team chooses which player of their team will face off in each card. (A player cannot be repeated.)
  3. There will be as many 1 vs 1 challenges as there are teams at the table, and the challenges are played in turns, one after the other. The teams not involved in a duel (dupla) may not take part in that challenge.
  4. The two players of each challenge sit side by side, with the card in the middle so that both can see it. Start the timer; each of the two answers the card silently on their own pad.
  5. When time is up, both stop writing. (In this round, if a player writes all 6 answers, they may decide to cut the time short. Watch out! If a player does not have at least four correct answers, they will not score any points.)
  6. The answers of that challenge are corrected.
  7. For each correct answer, advance one space on the board. Then the next duel follows.

Round 03 – ÚLTIMO ELIGE

In this round the team that is last on the scoreboard chooses the card that each team will answer.

  1. The team that is last chooses first its card from the blue envelopes, and then the cards of the other teams.
  2. Start the timer. Simultaneously, each team answers its card.
  3. When time is up, everyone stops writing.
  4. Each team corrects the answers of the team on its right.
  5. For each correct answer, advance one space on the board.

Round 04 – TODOS TODAS

In this round, each team chooses a card. All teams answer all the chosen cards.

  1. Each team chooses a card from the blue envelopes.
  2. Start the timer. Simultaneously, each team answers its card.
  3. When time is up, everyone stops writing and the card is passed to the team on the right.
  4. Start the timer again and answer the new card.
  5. Once all teams have answered all the cards, the answers are corrected by reading them aloud.
  6. For each correct answer, advance one space on the board.

The team that has advanced furthest on the board will be the winner of the game.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the game end if a team goes once around the board? No, the game always lasts 4 rounds.

Do rounds always have to be 2 minutes? No. It is a suggested time but it can be shortened or lengthened as the players prefer.

Can you play with more than 3 teams? You can, but we think that with more than 3 teams it becomes too long.

Is accepting an answer as correct up to the players? Not necessarily. We appeal to the common sense and judgment of the players to decide whether it is correct or incorrect. For example, if the answer is "Copa del Mundo" (World Cup) and the answer listed is "FIFA", we understand it should be accepted as correct.

Can it be played individually? Yes, it can, but we think it is more fun in teams.
