- 21 wooden elements
- 240 cards
- 6 player aid cards
- 12 blank cards for creating your own pictures
- 60 Victory Point tokens
- a cord
Object of the game
Use the wooden elements and the cord to make the other players guess what is drawn on the cards.
Preparation of the game
Lay all your wooden elements and the cord on the top of the table. Form a covered pile of cards and put it in an easily accessible place.
Progress of the game
The youngest player starts the game by taking the top card from the pile. Then (s)he looks at it without showing anyone else which card has been picked. Afterwards (s)he informs other players which of the following 6 categories his/her picture belongs to. Then (s)he tries to make the picture "real" by using any of the wooden elements and the cord.

Correct answer
If one of the players gives the correct answer, the Victory Points are granted: 1 VP for the person who succeeds to guess ("the guesser") and 1 VP for the person arranging the elements ("the arranger").
Then "the arranger" is obliged to discard his/her card.
No correct answer
If in a certain amount of time (e.g. 1 minute) no one gives the correct answer, "the arranger" must reveal his/her card, and – as a result – no one is granted with Victory Points. Then "the arranger" is obliged to discard his/her card.
Next turn
After being used, the card is discarded and all the wooden elements, as well as the cord, are laid on the top of the table. The next player (in a clockwise direction) picks up a new card and becomes "the arranger".
While arranging the elements the player is not allowed to give hints about the picture (s)he has chosen. The other players – simultaneously – try to guess what is being arranged (some examples appear at the beginning of the game manual). The person arranging the elements ("the arranger") may repeatedly change the way of arranging them. "The guessers" may provide "the arranger" – multiple times per turn – with their picks regarding the elements being arranged until someone succeeds to guess.
End of the game
The game ends when one of the players receives 7 Victory Points. If more than one player gets 7 VPs at the same time, the game continues until someone gains more VPs than other players.
If the players want to shorten or lengthen the play-time of El Bazar, they can agree (at the beginning of the game) on a fixed number of VPs.
Variants
All together
Each player – simultaneously – picks one of the cards on the table. They arrange their elements, and try to guess other players' pictures. The rest of the game rules remain the same.
Expert
Before looking at the card, "the arranger" may decide not to provide "the guessers" with the category of the card (s)he holds. If one of the players gives the correct answer, the Victory Points are granted: 2 VPs for the person who succeeds to guess ("the guesser") and 2 VPs for the person arranging the elements ("the arranger").
